well woulda cost just over 9k to fix it, so needless to say, it was totaled. i think i will be leaving the rx8 community as well, i'm kind of upset about it.

there is literally no good rx8's around here, and i can't have my rental for more than 7 days since it's declared totaled, and there is a super clean stanced z that i will probably buy within the next few days.

It's better to buy a stock car than a modded car trust me!
I'm not sure if you've driven a 350 yet but the steering is not precise like the 8, feels very heavy and awkward, sounds like a cow dying in high revs. I would test drive a stock one before looking into it.

I sold my first 8 and was looking into the 350, worst mistake of my life.

I've already driven a couple stock 350's and even a 370. I love the car, and it's not like engine modded or anything, pretty much just wheels and coilovers

sucks to see another 8 owner leave due to a fricken deer lol but good luck with whatever you decide to do. keep us posted.

Your mom is a stanced Z!

It's so hard to find decent cars around here that aren't Mustangs or Camaros. The Z is really the only Japanese sports car in the area in good supply. Hard to find any 8, Evo, or even WRX.

^ hence why i'm not buying an rx8, i'm not waiting to have a car when i can get myself into a Z by this weekend. and yes the insurance estimate to fix it was 9,000 dollars, and they didn't even inspect the frame.

the insurance company is refusing to let me buy back because it is too new. i've never heard of a rule like that, but that's what they are saying. they are giving me about 1500 dollars less than what it is worth too, but if i fight them, i may or may not get it, but then i'm sure they will drop me.

Insurance company usually uses NADA value as that is what banks usually use as well. It is usually lower than KBB.

Yep, less than 4k in repairs involved.

Well, the OP learned a lesson: read the contract before signing anything. Insurance policies included.

You should be getting "replacement cost", not "blue book". I got $15k when I totalled my '06 MINI Cooper S 2 years ago.
I only paid $13k for it when I bought it. My adjuster did a full inspection of my car then compared it to 100 others of the same year with in 500 mi. of me and determined the cost to buy a new one of equal condition, options and mileage.
You might want to talk to a lawyer about the insurance company's' offer.

It depends on the policy, normally you just get Blue Book. Which is why gap coverage is so important if you are upside down.

Have I been missing something? My insurance has always categorized the 8 as a 2dr Coupe(Farmers Insurance).

Smells like Geiko.

They don't want to sell it back to you because they know they can make a fortune off it at auction.

State Farm around here has many local offices and agents. I helped Sam rob some stuff off of it a few hours ago. The car is trashed. The deer went over the top and destroyed the roof and tail light as well as the front. Roof needs a re skin because of a crease.

The worst part is he is going traitor for a Nissan. Z loving bastard has given up on us. He's kinda cool though maybe I guess sometimes.
