Thumbs up High Definition Video in RX8

The first Video is of myself just cruising in the 8.(Lowest Quality video I could make due to the file size) Also I'm Not pushing the car hard because of the roads being wet.

Second clip is only 17 sec, that is in 720x480 video of High Definition, which ended up being 83.3MB! (View in Full Screen)

Hope you guys cut me some slack as well because it was my first time doing anything with editing video.
:D

Clip One: Just Cruising

Clip Two: 17 sec clip in High Definition (Right Click and Save) Large File

Not bad at all for your first video.
Good job

How did you have the camera mounted?

You should find a way to set it up on the dashboard, that would make for a SWEET video on those roads.

I could have done alot better but I was such in a hurry to get it done. Its weird how I mounted it due to me not having my mounting kit yet. I actually put in on the plastic part in the back by the speakers. I put a rubber mat there and then a self adjusting tie-down to hold the camera down. Then I just when from both end of the hooks back there for the baby seats and then it tied it pretty well.

I think I'll try it for my next video.

Are you using a mac to edit your videos ??

Yeah the High Definition kills the space. I'm down sizing the quality alot though and I'm using my own server so its all good. LOL But I have Windows Pro and I'm using Windows Movie Maker to edit the files. Its that not bad to tell you the truth.

Also check your aspect ratio when you digitize the clip. It came out a little squished.

Yeah I know, I guess thats what I get for you Windows Movie Maker. LOL I dont think it has an option where I get to keep the 720x480 and also change the quality. I'll need to download a better program like Pinnacle or something.

Try Windows Media Encoder. It's free, lets you choose a variety of sources for your video, lets you customize the dimensions and offers lots of choices on bit rates. Oh and it's free. Since you can choose to encode from a device, just plug your camera in via FireWire and digitize directly from it. With the proper bit rate, you should be able to retain HD quality. And did I mention it's free?
