I searched but all I found was one black eight with black HRE's. It was a beautiful setup, but God knows I can't afford HRE's. Any pictures or wheels suggestions? Not looking for anything too expensive.

one of the guys removed the stock rims...sanded/polished then layed several layers of black paint...sanding and polishing the layers as he went...then clearcoated...looked great!

Yah, good luck getting those wheels...a little too costly for me, especially since the black finish is custom and an extra 400 per wheel (above the cost of the rim already)....I love his setup..even better seeing in it person. I checked to see if I could get these wheels, and a couple of others made by Racing Hart...no luck.

On another note. I have seen many with Axis wheels, mostly the Hiro (which comes in anthracite...not black however).

I have a black 8 and have been looking for black wheels. A couple that I was looking at included the Racing Hart j8 (which doesn't come in black, but the J5 does), the Volk Gt-7 and Volk CE28N.

someone in the for sale section are selling the black sf-challenges right now for only 2400 or so... 1600 dollars for just the black finish? that would mean the rims would have only cost 800 dollars? in your dreams.

 

The Volk SF Challenge is now available in black. I found them last night at Wheelsdirect.com after making the previous post. I guess it goes to say, that if you are able to wait long enough, additional colors become available as demand increases. I am now considering the Volk Gt-7's now, because they recently came out in Daimond Black finish. If you search a wheel site, you'll notice that there are many rims that come in only one or two finishes. Lucky for you if the finish and rim you want are available, but if not, then be willing to fork out some extra dough.

And yes, 800 dollars per wheel...and I wish it was only a dream. I wanted a set of Racing Hart J8's in black because it is a finish they have on other rims. It was going to run close to 750 for the fronts, and 815 per rim for the rears...no tires.

 

I recently traded from my 2004 Titanium to a 2005 Black RX-8. (the black has the nav and the dealer gave me a reasonable deal)

I never had custom wheels before but this time I thought, "what the heck". It took a week for them to arrive but today I got some 19" Enkei RS7's put on. As for tires, they're Falken Azenis ST115's. I'm pretty happy with the setup.

 

Unfortunately this is not mine, but I think its the best looking black 8 i've ever seen.

 

Pretty sure that's just FE3P's car pre bodykit, and yes, it's absolutely stunning.

 

further proof that wheels make the car, it's no wonder they're over a grand per wheel, there's nothing else out there that looks as sick as those in my opinion.

....and since I had a monkey up my a%$, I checked the Axis website and they now sell the Hiros in Black. So, we now have two options (Anthracite and Black)...in addition to silver.
