As I said earlier, don't judge this colour before you've seen it in full sun. Don't judge it off brochures, or off unwashed minivans.
kwescott, this colour is nothing at all like Nordic Green. Nordic Green is black in anything other than full sun, IMO.

Remember, the Ujina 1 paint plant that painted these cars burnt down in late December 04. I seem to recall a new technology paint system was introduced when the plant was rebuilt.... I need to search.
Here we go....
HIROSHIMA, Japan--Mazda Motor Corporation announced today that the paint shop at the Ujina No.1 Plant (U1) that was damaged during a fire in December 2004 is to be completely restored, resuming full production with integrated painting and vehicle assembly in April 2005........
.......due to a module-based construction system that has reduced both construction time on the affected area of the building and the interval required for the installation of new production equipment. The eco-friendly Three Layer Wet Paint System will also be introduced to the newly refurbished U1 line and is one of the reasons Mazda will be able to complete the restoration project so quickly......
......Mazda has developed an advanced paint technology, the Three Layer Wet Paint System, which improves paint quality while reducing energy consumption. This system dispenses with the high-temperature "bake" normally necessary between the primer and the topcoat and shortens the painting process. It also features a control system that reduces the number of robots, resulting in a truncated installation time on the U1 line.....

Wow. I do need to see it in person, but switching out the Titanium was another bad move in my opinion. I liked that grey a lot. The Galaxy Grey reminds me of my old Oldsmobile. And the Phantom Blue is probably the wimpiest color I've ever seen on an RX-8!
I do like the new Copper Red though...

The way that Phantom Blue photographed looks like it did on the Mazda 5's I have seen (four total now).
I hardly see any around here. Most commonly a green one. Then there is a red one driven by a really old guy that circles the parking lot at the mall all the time. Then silver. There is a blue one I have seen that is driven by a lady with "big" blonde hair that's usually blowing in the wind because the moonroof must be open since the windows aren't. So, essentially I have seen four different ones out on the road and not at dealer lots.

, you are buying a Phantom Blue RX-8??
No. Oops. I didn't mean to make it sound that way. I'm getting a Winning Blue RX-8 that happens to be sitting at port right now with the first batch of 06's in the US. There should also be a Phantom Blue and a Galaxy Gray going to my same dealer at the same time, though.
