Well spotted 'mez! On the VR vs blue... I'd probably be an owner of a stratos blue if they were available when I got mine. Wil lbe interesting to see this new blue in person. I won't be upgrading though.

that said, at least from those pictures, the phantom blue looks a lot nicer than i was expecting it to. and its similar to the montego blue of FD days, but not exactly it. the montego blue was a fairly deep blue-green, more so than the phantom blue.
::edit to add montego blue example::

Are there any strato blue pictures in the sunlight instead of shade and cloudy day??? I was hoping for a closer comparison of the colors since I haven't seen strato blue in person but have seen phantom blue in person on another model. It's kind of hard to gauge the difference without similar lighting conditions. Basically to more closely illustrate the difference.
It does look very much like the X-men blue one!!!

I found this one. It is indoors but there is some bright lighting on the front of it. Here is a known strato blue, a known phantom blue, and the other one.

I ahve to say, that before I saw this post, I thought I had seen the Phantom Blue in person as well...but now I know I have seen something completely different. In my area (San Bernardino County, California), a lot of manufacters are running 2007 and up vehicles as test vehicles...to trouble shoot problems. The cars a running constantly through the day, and sometimes, they are concealed by hiddeous "Bra" like covers. I saw an 8 in a parking lot by my house, and at first, couldn't determine whether it was a black, shinka or nordic green. I was on the shady side of the metallic paint. As I drove past, I realized it was a color I had never seen before. It was a greyish, metallic blue...nothing like the Phantom blue pics you posted here. I think it was similar to what they have ono that new minivan that Mazda is selling. It was awful. Too bad I didn't have my camera
