Galaxy gray is nice. I'll have to make a point to look for a Phantom Blue 5 on a dealer lot tomorrow afternoon when I am out doing errands and if I find one I'll have to get pictures to compare the color to the car on here. I know the one at the auto show was more of a green/teal shade under the lights inside, mainly from the green metallic in it. It wasn't so much reflecting the metallic in it because the lighting was not very bright and not really shining on it. The ones I have seen outside look almost to have a green "glow" coming off it when the sun is shining. In the shade without a lot of reflection they look kind of a dulled gray/blue color. Now I'm really curious as to what that color is.

I LOVE IT! Would look great sitting next to my silver. The sign in the window said "2005 Stock Clearance", I'd like to get it at clearance price. Also it comes with clear corners? (probably already observed, I didn't read every post) Thanks for sharing Gomez.

That "2005 Clearance" sign in the window is another reason why I am questioning the color besides not really resembling the phantom blue I have already seen in person on other vehicles. Why would they put a sign saying "2005 Clearance" on a new 06 car???

Go down to the Mazda dealer and look at a Mazda 5 in Phantom Blue, since this is what they are saying it is on here (I don't know for sure yet) and you will see the color in person.
If that picture is strato blue you won't get it (don't know for sure if it's that either), but if it is phantom blue you will be able to get that color in the US.

It's always been a crying shame that Mazda didn't release Strato Blue to the U.S. Market; I love my Winning Blue but that deep Strato Blue would have been even better.

This car is Phantom Blue.
This car was made in Japan in 2005....so it is a 2005 car. It is not a new 2006 car...it is a new 2005 car.
Here in Australia, a car built in 2005 depreciates as soon as the first of January 2006 comes around.
Dealers here are eager to clear 2005 stock because as the new year rolls on, 2005 stock is worth less.
This is why that sign is on the window.
Did I happen to mention that this car is a Phantom Blue RX-8??

Repeatedly.
My mind just requires a little more convincing because the color as shown in your photo does not look like the phantom blue I have seen in person. It may well be phantom blue. It just doesn't resemble the same color I have seen in person on a Mazda 5 labeled as phantom blue. It may just be how it photographed since pictures don't always look true to life realistic in their coloring.

i really like the new blue! honestly, i thought the winning blue was a good color, but it was too bright for my tastes. i'm glad they made a darker blue too. i really liked the nordic green as well, so it kinda disapoints me that they're discontinuing the color. i was orriginally gonna special order the nordic green when i bought my 8, but i went with the black instead. after seeing that new blue though, it's a tough decision on my fav color, between the nordic green and phantom blue.
thanx for posting those pics, and that was a good comparison between the two blues!!!

I ordered a phantom blue rx8 since it was the only one available before august, and they said they would help me dealer trade for a titanium gray or black one.
These pictures assured me that I refuse to get stuck with a phantom blue.
That is ugly as hell..

Like anything, you should see it in the flesh before you pass judgement. Never pick a colour off a brochure, or off the model on the showroom floor.
See the car with your own two eyes in full sunshine.....then make up your mind.
