I have it all.. Jealous?
ooooo woow, i like this article. BUT after reading this article im also having some doubts between and rx-8 and 350Z, i like a super torquey feel... and the interior for the rx-8 didn't look as "cool" as the 350Z's or the s2000's... hmmm what do u think?

only thing i'm so disappointed about is the mazdaspeed version coming out next year (?). i'm gonna be so jealous when the MS version comes out and someone w/ it pulls up next to me. good article tho.

I'm not worried about the MS version. The 31k price tag my RX-8 had was about as much as I wanted to spend. If the MS version is 40k, it wouldn't have been in the price range I was shooting for.
Speaking of which, there was a dealer in south FL that had a fully equipped MS version (they installed all the parts) and were selling the car off because they quit being a MS dealer (They said Mazda charges them thousands of dollars to sell their products and they weren't going to be paying them anymore for that privilege). They wanted somewhere around 45k for the car - he claimed that was 1k over invoice. I said no thanks :P

I doubt MSRP for the Mazdaspeed will be $40K. According Road&Track's SPEED magazine, the JDM prices for the MS is about $32,730.
But the current JDM A-spec version is still NA, with very minor hp gains. Our US spec version is suppose to be either supercharged or turbocharged.
So I'd guess a $35K-ish MSRP price. Of course the dealers will slap on a markup (for sure here in hawaii), so it might be a $40K asking price.

Great article. I have a little horsepower envy right now, but I wouldn't give up my new 8. I've been a long time Z fan and test drove the 350Z, but after driving the RX8, I felt it rode better and had a better look. Overall, the 8 is a btter car.

All you have to know is the Mazdaspeed RX8 kicked S2000's ***
in a five lap battle, the MS won by about 4 seconds on a 1:08 seconds lap =D
MS changes the suspension, lightflywheel, chassis brace, and tower bar
and MS is not a aggressive change...
