Dec 13th @ Streets of willow

Hi all, this was my first time on a road course, I loved it! And highly recommend it!

I went to Streets of willows organized by www.redlinetrackevents.com

Unfortunately, our DV tapes didnt record anything!! Maybe it was too cold? All the video was either gone or covered with snow flakes... sad..

Not sure will it work, but let me try and post pics

Yes, helmets are required.

I loved the handling of the car, its just after a few runs, when our tires(stock) gets kindda hot, it loses grip quite a bit. And maybe a bit of a body roll.

Theres actually a skid pad turn on this track, so I always tried to drift a bit there :]

The cones were setup like that, cuz that part is actually a skidpad turn. I think it must take a very good driver to be able to knock down cones like that :]

This is the map of the course
http://www.redlinetrackevents.com/images/StreetNew.GIF

The organizer do provider timing devices, but its is not recommended. Because any timed event will for sure void ur insurance.

Its pretty much a drivers race. There were cars that I can pass and cars that I cant. I think an instructor was driving a S2000 (pretty stock looking, not the one shown), and was tailgating me bad. On both straights and corners. After I let him pass I tried to chase him, but he just slowly pulled on me.

Also a JDM civic type R passed me too. On the previous sessions he was not able to follow close to me, but on the last lap, he could tailgate me and I had to let him pass. I then talked to the driver and he told me that his tires finally warmed up on the last round. Cool driver and cool car

btw, anybody noticed I actually had the mazdaspeed mirrors? I got them from vivid :]

I will be up there with my 8 on the 10th of January (barring any unforseen difficulties). I have been looking for somewhere to really stretch my 8's legs.

you going to the willow springs rite? Thats a lot bigger course. Not as technical, more HP cars will have an advantage on the big course.

I will be going on Feb again, its just too addictive :] It makes driving on the streets so boring..
