XeRo.......sounds like we are looking to do the same thing. Which badges are you wanting to remove. I wanna get rid of the "mazda" in the back. and maybe the front one.

 

Arent the badges on the rear just held on by some glue?? IF they are all you have to do is get some dental floss and work it back and forth behind the badges and they will come off

 

I have my front debadged... had 2 holes, but didn't think of taking pix. When I repaint the rear end, I'll take a pic of all the holes the Mazda word and symbol leaves. Should be 4-5 holes on those.. and None for the RX-8 symbol.

 

I think my RX-8 logo in the third brake light would look nice on the rear of a debadged 8. I already know it looks nice on the rear of a badged one.

Hehehe, but my front debadged wasn't by choice. A 2 x 2 inch metal pole flew at my front bumper driving 80mph... made a 1 inch gash, took the paint right off... I'm not going to let that stand. If it was a mini ding, touch up paint is fine.. but not a gash.

I was going to add my old Efini silver badge... but it does look nicer without the front badge.. and easier to wax.

 

see that's what I want to do...although I'm trying to find out IF Efini actually produced the 8...if not then I'll leave it alone..but if so I want to put the Efini emblems in place of the front and rear Mazda symbol...i HATE IT...big and ugly!!!!...but I was talking to RXHusker and he said the efini badges are much smaller than the Mazda symbols and might not cover the holes left behind, if they are spread far apart...there is a silver RX-7 R1 here that has the Efini badges on with the red background and it looks sweet on the silver...and my 8 is silver...so you get the picture..but i don't want to become ricey by doing the whole Efini badge deal when Efini never produced the 8 in the first place...that's just a little stupid to me...so in the meantime while i try to find out IF Efini did make the 8, maybe someone will by then have posted pics of the mount holes on the Mazda SYMBOLS..i'm not overly concerned about the word Mazda and RX-8...those I can sort of live with...i think..

plz dont put the efini on the 8, you'll rice it out. efini only for the fd3s rx7. its like putting type R sticker on an accord.
as for the badges, i believe only the mazda symbol is screwed on, the mazda letter and rx8 letter are glued on.

just take the plastic panels off your rear gate and look for posts...i'm not sure as i haven't done this yet....

like i said guys...if I see that Efini did not produce the 8 I am not going to do this...because then it would be RICE...or as we have discussed in another PC thread..."over the top"..lol...

 

I got a quote this weekend to remove the emblems from the front and rear and the shop wanted 700 bucks
sounds like too much to me

 

Keep shopping around mike. I could have swore you posted long ago about somebody quoting $350...? If the guy does good work I say jump on that deal if you can still find him.
