I'mma firin' mah lazor!!!
I moved back to KY about 7 months ago, and boy am I glad I did. I've been tearing up back roads and such since I've been back. Actual curves and elevation changes > The beach.
I'm getting the car ready for a trip to the dragon, so I'm not trying to make it pretty. They are about 3 pounds lighter per corner with tires. I'm not 100% on how it looks, but I can't argue with how the car performs now. It's an absolute grip *****. When I was in Florida, the car would see the track about every other weekend. Now I'm lucky to go every other month. Funny how that works, lol. What they lack in good driving roads they make up for with track days year round.
I gained more wheel gap by switching to a 255-40-17 versus something with a 45 sidewall. The final drive change has been pretty amazing though haha. A lot of people at Cars and Coffee (where that pic was taken) were complimenting me on the wheels. I'm gonna polish them up a bit, detail the car and play with the coils some. I know one thing for sure, switching from the OEM S2 wheels to a lighter, wider, sticker setup, getting a tune on it and a good alignment all in one weekend was a pretty night/day change in the car's behavior, it's fun as **** now :D
Also meant to say: I was a skeptic on your MS front bumper at first, but it's really grown on me. The intercooler hiding behind the mesh kinda sold me haha. I still think I prefer the OEM front end, but your car wears it really really well.

I understand function over form, But I prefer to have both
Actually I was not a fan of the MS for a long time only because it has been over done. But it's the only kit that is bolt on and you don't have to modify **** to get it to fit. Even legitimate body pieces need some massaging to get fitment right and even then there are some things that are never perfect. The MS pieces are tough and fit right. Not 100% like the R3 pieces for example but fitment is 95% perfect.
But I do hate that it kind of makes my car unoriginal, so I am planning to work on that.

The MS front is one of those things that no one can deny it looking good, but there are so many fakes out there and such that I almost prefer to see a clean stock front end car. I feel like when I go out to meets, lots of fake MS kits are abundant and they are always beat to death/cracked haha.
I almost got the full kit a few years back, for the reasons you just listed. I wound up just sticking with the aero kit, and swapping to a wingless deck lid though. I wish I had bought it now though, since genuine MS kits are becoming so rare. It's amazing that it can just bolt on like that out of the box and fitment is so spot on. I wouldn't say it makes yours look unoriginal, though. It looks super aggressive. I'm sure you'll find ways to make it yours. Worst case scenario, if you decide you don't like it, sit on it, and sell it for boucoup dollars a few years down the road and make your money back 5X over haha.
I have been playing with the idea of some R3 side skirts/interior bits. But building up the cooling system/building another motor/S2 trans > making it look better. Maybe next year I'll focus on aesthetics haha.
While I agree with this 100%, it's pretty hard to argue with free wheels that are a "better" offset and lighter haha. The funny thing is, when I run the wheels without centercaps, people will stop me and ask me what kind of wheels they are, tell me how clean the car is and so on, thinking they are some rare JDM wheel. The funniest part is seeing their reaction when I tell them they are 96 Cobra wheels and reality hits them like a ton of bricks. Then the compliment ususally starts going "....I mean they look good but you should get some RPF1's or something"
