Had to chime in with installed wing pics. Need to get the trunklid touched up from where the stock wing rubbed down to bare metal and have the holes filled. The rear downforce over 45mph is amazing...

What tires, and do you also use them for daily/non-track use? ^

I have the Hankook V12's for day-to-day driving on the 19's, but for track use I was planning on eventually getting some [hopefully] lightweight 17's. Especially with the consensus I'm reading around here in regards to the V12's greasiness on track.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport in oem format (225/45/19). And yes, so far, this is my only set of wheels for the car! So i had to choose a good (read:awesome) all around tire! Can't beat those Michelins...

I'll probably go for the same tires next set or RS3s which i also hear a lot of good. But with new rims for track. High possibility RPF1s in 18" and wider tires 245/35... We'll see! Next year!

The R3 BBS forged gunmetal wheels are very unique and I think I'll keep those for day to day use till the day it's retired from the public roadway :-)

Yeah...I know, this is reviving a thread that is sort of 'dead'...but I really want to see more R3's out there! I am sure there are more out there...right?! I want to see a White one! I might be getting one, but still waiting for some things to fall into place before I can make the final decision!

Anyways, let me see some R3's, please!!

Here's the last good pic from Nov. of 2012 before it was totaled the weekend before NYE. Not even a year old. Was purchased new in April of 2012 as a 2011 left over from dealer inventory.

RIP...

New Ride.. 2009 GT with R3 Interior..

Thanks Monchie. It was sad to see the R3 go but driver error on my part and loss of concentration. Just glad no one else was involved. Patiently waiting on a forum member here to sell me his R3 bumper once his JDM one arrives. Trying to make my GT look as close to the R3 as possible but with some subtle touches.

The wheels are the R3 are Volk G2 Type-II in 19" staggered fitment. They are currently being refinished in Diamond Grey with a polished lip to match the 09 GT. The current rims the GT are Advan RZ in dark gun metal which are also 19" staggered setup. I transferred and salvaged as much of the aftermarket parts from the R3 as possible minus the coilovers. The GT is running PowerTrix coilovers which are really nice.

benben01, if you do not mind me asking, what happened that led to the crash? I feel really sad about that picture. Especially after seeing how beautiful your R3 was! RX-8 is one of those cars where I cannot decide which colour is my favourite, because all colours look amazing! Your new RX-8 looks amazing too! I am in the process of working out a possibility of purchasing a 2009 R3! I hope nothing bad like that will happen to me! I also hope the car will not get vandalized!!! I am really nervous at the thought of that!!
