those eyelids look great!!

i couldnt justify spending that much $ on eyelids when i could get the Rmagic replicas which were painted for me for only $25, and arrived 6 days after payment.

I recently went the coilover route with Stance GR+ btw.. My old spring and shock combo are in the FS section.

I went with generic Ebay spacers for 140 shipped. My friend has been running generic ebay spacers on his 1JZ FC for years without problem.

i dont think forum rules allows me to post ebay links since they expire, any 5x114.3 25mm spacer that has the correct centerbore will work just fine. I went with the cheapest i could find lol.

well you see, snow came and.... yeah. salty mess.. on top of dirty mess, on top of more salty mess from 1 month ago, on top of more dirty mess on top of gross ness from 3 months ago...

long story short, i havnt washed my car since it was warm. I cringe when i look at my car

i actually raised the height an inch, so it looks worse :p Its just incase it snows while im at school and i can get home without plowing snow into my radiator.

when it gets warm, im dropping it to the same height as i had when i had my sprints. If i go any lower i cant get out of my driveway without raping my RB midpipe. I even tried at full lock and almost hopping a curb.. still couldnt not scrape.

I hear you.

That's one of the reasons why I am certain I will never drop my 8 for as long as I live in this part of the country. That, and the million pot holes and speed bumps around my town

Wish I lived in a place where it doesn't snow, a place with long flat and smooth roads. Maybe one day

Well, I guess I could drop it really low and just keep in storage during the entire winter as some people do with their cars. That's an option.

did this for the first time this winter, first winter with a garage :D. been driving my POS Celica but it started overheating last week when it was 5° outside. good thing i still put the snow tires on the 8 in the fall so i could drive it to work. good thing it hasnt snowed since cause i put my springs on in Oct.

im being dramatic :/ For that much snow to be on the ground and not plowed, nobody should be driving any car on the road.

as long as you arent slammed (anything more than a 2inch drop) then you should be fine.

i love those RPF1's MRL...

Ive wanted the SBC finish RPF1's but im unsure if i want to run more than -2* of camber..

they are slightly more aggressive than my oem set with spacers.

In other news, i just washed my car for the first time in....... a while...... 4 months? wow.. i should have been given a fine..

and i picked up a Takata 4pt harness for the upcoming autox season and maybe some mountain runs.

going to lower the car some when it gets warmer/if i get less lazy.

my bilsteins and sprints are still for sale too, i just havnt bumped the thread in a while... so if you know anyone who wants a reliable low suspension setup then let them know. It was a no rubbing setup which was great.

EDIT:
my current fitment is at 18x8+25 (25mm spacers)
RPF1 18x9.5 +15

this is an extension of 29mm or 1.2 inches out. I might be slightly poking with a 245/35/18 profile..

thoughts?

its been too cold to test anything properly.

however the roads that i have been driving before and after...

i should note that along with the stance GR+ i also switched to a different tire..

Before i felt some body roll and i felt the car start to get scary at the same time the tires started to get scary. I think i had 10mph more until the car actually started to lose traction.

now, i feel the car get scarier quicker... There is less body roll and i guess i push the car more because of it, but i really really really feel the soft sidewalls of these tires. I feel the tires give way long before my suspension does.. infact i dont feel my suspension give out at all, it feels like it can keep on going.

FYI: im at 13/16clicks stiff in the front and 12/16clicks stiff in the rear. When i lower the car 1/2 inch when it gets warmer im going to try 15/16F and 14/16R.

I think the bilsteins felt comparable to a 10-12clicks stiff on the stance coilovers incase anyone is wondering.

The harness feels great and really holds me into the seat. If my body started moving in the seat at around 40mph around a curve, with the harness my body starts slipping and i feel it at around 50mph. If possible id like to lose atleast 1 waist size so i can fit into a Bride Vios bucket seat to eliminate the moving all together.

thanks. I have seen the SBC finish in person dont like it, it looks cheep to me. and on a related note i dont know how durable it is but the black is super thin. luckily testors flat black is exactly the same color so i keep a paint stick in the glovebox. you could run a higher offset or a 17X9. bonus 17 tires are cheaper. when i bought my RPF1s i priced tires for the stockers and the new wheels same tire, the 225 18 was 70 bucks more per tire than the 255 17 lol. the difference was even more on good tires.

you have coilovers and with a proper tire choice the gap would remain relatively close...

my driveway is ridiculous, with 225/45/18 oem tires i cleared my driveway with a veeeery minor scrape on my rb midpipe with the huuuge front resonator.

when i switched to 225/40/18 tires i couldnt get out of my driveway without really raping my midpipe.

hence the coilover upgrade.

so yes i can slam the car with 17's, but i wont make it out of my driveway. Ill have to raise the car higher than what it is now with 17s.

this is the key, 255/45r17 is actually minimally larger than the stock 225/45r18 ( 26.04" vs 25.97" OD) my winter set up is 225/55r17 and my fender gap is less than my thumb on my stechs. so its all about tire choice.

A couple quick shots after a wash yesterday. The weather was to nice not to advantage.
Only a few more days until the car goes back to my summer setup. Wheels and coilover ride height will be done. Brakes, rotors, and caliper will be done as well. I almost hate posting pics of the car with the winter setup, I never can get used to the look.

Claying, polishing, and sealing will be my next project in the very near future.

Sealing is just an additional step during the polishing and waxing process. Its just another coat of protection and added shine. It also tends to last longer once it sets up and hardens.

Pico! What up man, you still planning a Mazdaspeed kit? I am still dying to see a 40th with a nice stance and the MS kit.
