How does everyone with a Shinka feel about the 2006 Shinka's......and the fact that they'll be available in four colors?? I like my unique color......but I'm a little miffed that 2005 didn't have more colors. Will the 2006 reduce the value of our cars?

I highly doubt that the was much extra value to our cars in the first place to be lost, they would be a decent value difference if there was a 20+hp difference but there isn't. Sounds like the interior on the 06 isn't as nice but I do like the red mica color, but I doubt people would mistake a red mica for a lexus like they do with my shinka.

I like the fact the 'Shinka' becomes a package option like 'Touring' and 'Grand Touring' in 2006 rather than a version like in 2005. This might seem like a small thing, but I take comfort in knowing the 2005 is unique. The fact that the Black Cherry color (which everyone that sees the car loves it) was only available in 2005 in the US should help. I don't think the 2006 will reduce the value at all. Seriously, these cars are going to lose value no matter what until that magic 20-25 year mark when the value will start appreciating again. No car really appreciates a lot until there are very few left. I am sure that 40-50 years from now, our 2005 Shinkas are going to get big $$$ at Barret Jackson

I also wish there was a power increase with the Shinka, but I'm not that worried about that. I think you touched on the real reason the 2005 is going to hold it's value....the color. I cannot tell you how many times a BMW or Mercedes has pulled up next to me and nearly broke their neck looking back and forth at my car. It's funny, because my car probably cost half of what theirs cost, but that Black Cherry and polished wheels really make the car look rich. It gives the appearance of being a much more expensive car. When I first got the car, my boss was like, "I guess we're paying you too much." Same thing happened when I let my wife drive it to her office. Her boss (who owns a 2003 C5 Vette and a 2005 S600 Benz) was asking her all kinds of questions about it. He said the same thing to her, "I guess we're paying you to much."

What a difference a color makes

I love the color. Sometimes I go to the garage at night, turn on the light, and just look at the different hues. I can't wait until I put the clear corners on. Looking at Shinka213's car makes me want them now. That looks sharp.

I've been garaging my car most days because of the weather, so I can't wait until the springtime when the sun is out and my car's true color is revealed! This foggy weather today sucks. blah.

I came here to post the same question about the 06 Shinka, but darkroase beat me to it!

I think they look really sharp, but I kinda wish Mazda had come up with a deifferent name. 1) To differientiate between the two and 2) So ours was more unique.

If I had the choice between the four 06 colors and ours? Ours.

Where did you all find pics of the 06 Shinka? I went to the Mazda page, but there wasn't anything there.

The Alcantara inserts are perforated with red underneath. Also, they have red stiching along with the steering wheel, shift ****, e-brake lever, and console covers. It looks subtle and really sharp. If I can find the up-close pics I was looking at last week, I'll post them.

I think the Sports Prestige mdoels are for Japan only. Everything from Mazda says that the copper red "prestige" (and other 4 colors) is for the Japanese market. I hope so.

just curious...anyone flood there shinka? i havent...but i thought it was going to happen when my wife moved it out of the garage really quick...it still started up smoothly.

also with the the new 2006 shinka...i read only 1500 will be made, so is that 1500 divided by 4...375 cars for each color? and yes i still think our black cherry color is by far the best color i have seen in any car

and finally what is the real production run of the 2005 shinka. i remember it was supposed to be 2500 or something then i heard there was a fire in the production place so half that was built...whats the real story

Once Mazda starts selling the new MS kit, I will be one of the first to get it. Haven't seen any Shinkas with the current MS kit yet, so maybe I'll be the first MS Shinka period of course, someone might have a current MS Shinka and just never posted on this thread before.

When the new MS8 kit comes out....I'm sure the Black Cherry won't be offered just like it isn't with the current kit. But having it painted is no big deal, I want to debadge the car anyway. I hope the kit is available this spring.....I would love to have everything complete for summer cruising

Well, it's not technically a Shinka, but I guess it's the same thing.
Here's my 2 day old RX-8 Revelation - the 2006 Australian Limited Edition car.

Copper Red with the "sand" coloured Leather & Alcantra interior.
The fender stakes and rotary crests were added options.

More pics later

Cheers,
Mat.
