Calling all Black Cherry Shinkas
That is pretty hardcore getting it tattoed on...but it makes for a great conversation piece I bet. Do any of you know the name or a color code or anything for the Orange colored writing on our B Pillars. I know it is Orange but I am trying for an exact match.

When I told my wife about that, she said "sheesh, you guys being so affixed with your cars is stupid". I think I need a new wife.

Hi all,
Got my Shinka in late September; di not see this thread until a local 8 club member told me about. (RedSheDevil, I'd be lost in this Forum black hole without you!) Anyway, no mods yet, saving to go to Japan in Feburary. Going to Hiroshima and take a factory tour. Mods will be dependent on the limitations of B Stock in Solo II. Some comments:
Shinks, you tatoo is awasome. Even it was across your forehead, it is cool, and I greatly admire your dedication to your passions (Shinkas, roses, your kids).
Black cherry shouldn't be masculine or feminine. It was a design choice and accurately represents the tradition that Mazda maintains of special editions. Look back at the Nardi Miata, the M Editions, etc. Rarely has there been significant mechanical upgrades for a Mazda special editions. Besides, it is beautiful, and the reason I like it so much is that it looks so much more refined and classy than the regular color combos.
Yes, clear corners are on the mod list, and Shinks, you are more than welcome to stop in Chicago and install them for me!
Will post some pictures when I figure out how.
Look forward to talking with you guys,
Sakura-chan

Welcome to the shinka clan....
I'd seriously consider getting the front chin airdam, aero package and a spoiler, makes a world of difference looks-wise.
Mine has RB intake with cold air extension, hymee exhaust, exhaust finishers, stock spoiler and aero package. Will be doing mazdaspeed suspension with RB sways in early spring. Wheels and tires the year after and supercharger the year after that.
Are you driving it in the winter? Hope not.

Any Shinka owners use, or had a dealer porter or car wash attendent use, wheel cleaner that ruined the finish of the wheels? My dealer's porter used their regular stuff and it made the wheels look like they have baked-in brake dust. They want to send the wheels in to refinish them, but I am thinking I want new wheels as I am leary of the finish the wheel shop will give them, as well as the durability in the elements (I am in Chicago and drive Sakura all year round). Any thoughts?

Shinka with winter tires & wheels
I've had my Shinka since June 05. It's my second RX8. I had a blk base 6spd, took it into the dealer for an oil change at around 24k miles. They were pushing this little beauty into the showroom, and well....I just had to.
The dealer gave me $22k for my old car, which I had only paid $25. Nice value retention.
These are 18" Kazera w/ Dunlop M3s from Tirerack. I'm super impressed with the dry performance of these tires. Low noise, nice grip, no roll. Just a little softer than my OE Bridgestones. I'm not concerned about snow now, the tread looks like I could take on my neighbors jeep in a muddin contest

I see what ya mean about the tires.....should be no problem in the snow, mud, sleet or hail!!!

I like the clear corners too, but don't like how it sticks out. Does anyone know if there are clear corners that fit like the stock yellows?
