Question Body-colour light tinting...

Thinking of candy-style semi-transparent paint on the lenses. Sorry for the crude Photoshops, but I wanted to get a good idea of the final product. Legal? Possibly, with LED bulbs. Any suggestions?

i don't see it being legal. if the lights shine blue anyway.

i ponder to think what the brake light would look like.

too much blue there. one color cant stand out of its own without the matching of other color.

Cant you put like those tint vinyl things on it instead? Just get a blue colored one. And if you get in trouble you can always take it off , rather then replace the whole thing.

This guy did vinyl overlays on his clear corners. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ighlight=vinyl

Didn't look too bad.

I wouldn't do the rears though. You might as well put t big banner on the car that reads"yeah yeah I know pull over".

good idea. maybe too much color, imo. especially considering you've got tint and the smoked tails would look fargin hawt!!

anything on the front risks lowered lighting - not worth it.

Verified: Illegal in Nevada

Wow, I got a lot of input on this. I thought it looked pretty good but it would have been a LOT of blue, agreed.

I did ask a Nevada State Trooper about it and the DMV and both said it is illegal to have "tints, shading, lenses, etc. that interfere with the light transmission, including colour, of either head- or tail-lights". Law=Front: Clear or amber. Rear: Red or amber ONLY, with clear for the reversing light(s). They also said that they enforce the bulb-types as well, meaning no green, blue, purple, etc. Guess that's what I get for living in a town of 55,000. They probably would pull me over, too.

Oh well

here in vegas u can get pulled over for having red/blue lights becuause it supposedly resembles a cop's lights...u can go to an arts and crafts shop and they sell a spray paint type stuff that is a film to tint windows/lights for cars...its easily removed but id only do it manually if ur a good painter
