AEM CAI Install (Pics and Vid)
AEM CAI Install (Pics and Vid)
I just got and installed my AEM CAI from Fluid. It took about 3 hours from start to finish. I had to re-arrange where my LEDs where placed...lol.

There's the work area...

Out with the old

Naked...

Hey I can see in there!

The old LED locations...

OOoOooOo Blue

Paint Match much?

AEM Filter

Installed!

I can see it!

Engine Bay...minus strut bar...

A Rear Pic of the Car with Lights on

AEM CAI...
And a short video...

It maybe a placebo effect...but I do notice a gain in throttle response and over 6000 rpm.

You should post a complete DIY from front bumper removal to reinstall. I don't belive one currently exists.
See a lot of screws/bolts in the first pic. How many 'extras' did you have left after completing the install

My AEM came with instructions...plus I already took my front bumper off before. Racing Beat has a PDF with a guide as well.
I had a lot of spare clips and screws because i ripped out plastic panels and parts that could only be used with the stock airbox.

That sucks you didn't post this up about 2 weeks ago. I got the Mazdaspeed cold air intake and wasted 45 minutes trying to figure out how to snake the bent pipe in between the bumper reinforcement and the body then i realized i had to unbolt and remove the reinforcement... Although I did mine without having to remove the strut bar? Anyways it looks great and in the pics it looks like the blue matches the RX-8's Blue.

Well last time i took my bumper off, i was fighting with those clips...and well I lost. So I took the wheels off and I could see when I needed to do.
Haha thx Brice. Yea I was thinking about that...and possibly replacing all of those nasty OEM wire looms...but I can't seem to find any good loom.
Yea, but it also gave me a chance to clean up my calipers. I had a lot of brake dust coating my blue paint.

I believe the AEM numbers at 7hp gain at peak horsepowers (over the 6k range). But that can only be felt on that product I showed above!
Good install tho. Color schemes nice
