RX-8s owners needed for TV Show
RX-8s for TV Show
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fellow RX-8 Forum members:
Mr. Paul Schiefer is producing a TV show entitle Head2Head. It's an Americanized Top Gear comparison show hosted by Samuel Hubinette (Pro Drifter and Ice Race Champion). And they are filming a newer stock RX-8 against a 350Z in a series of comparisons and performance tests at Willow Springs. But they also need private owner RX-8s to film and speak to owners.
They would like to get video submissions from owners talking up the RX-8's strengths vs. the competing vehicles’. You can participate by submitting a home video.
If you are interested, PLEASE CONTACT Paul at any of the following below:

A brief description of Head2Head and information on Torque.TV. Torque.TV was started by the founder of Speed Channel and the CEO is one of the pioneers of Video On Demand. It will be launched on 3/17 using cutting edge TV over IP technology developed by Microsoft.
We would like to review the RX8 at Willow Springs on Thurs. 3/20
Head2Head is a ground breaking new TV series for distribution on Torque.TV, Streetfire.net, Youtube, Google Video, Myspace, and Facebook. Think of it as an Americanized Top Gear that's been tweaked for a younger hipper online audience. Each six-minute episode pits two rival cars against each other in a Head2Head comparison. The host is two time Formula Drift champ and Hollywood stunt driver Samuel Hubinette "The Crazy Swede." Of course there will be 'by the numbers' comparisons, but where Head2Head rises above the rest is in its witty subjective opinions and it's deep interaction with the online and club communities. Never before has an automotive TV program engaged in a two way dialog with owners and fans. Look out because H2H will be engaging, entertaining, and controversial. One thing it's guaranteed not to be is just another run of the mill automotive TV show. It will be heavily promoted on national cable TV and online and will begin it's flight schedule in late in April 2008.

same here. i can't think too much about the AMERICAN version of top gear idea. the whole thing on top gear is based heavily on making the americans look stupid and demostrate how Europeans and Japaneses automakers are better. ( ex: FAT, Stupid, Ignorant, unsophisticated, LEAF SUSPENSION hahahaha lol i can go forever).

it's official: I can't make it. Too short of notice, Easter week, and a weekday all made it difficult.
I hope someone is able to step up and do this, would be fun to see a forum member's car on this show.

I'm stoked to the heavens someone is trying to make an American Top Gear (or whatever), just think of all the crap TV out right now, washed up celebrities dancing, "amateurs" competing on American Idol, TV used to have shows with real plots/storyline/characters and real writers, (it started getting back to that and then people had to strike...yeesh) now all we're faced with is watching someone else's "reality" drama or some other junk, **** man, bring this show on, give us something better to watch, at least it will be about cars and way more meaningful and entertaining than any of the crap that's on right now. If I lived anywhere near Willow Springs I'd be all over this, but alas, hardly any cool car programming ever ventures into Austin or leave Cali etc. (save for Overhaulin' and Lance) so we get stuck out, again. :P

I dont think terrypk1 and I are completly against the Americanized version of Top Gear. No doubt I bet we'll both watch or at least I will. In my post, I was just trying to point out its not going to be as good. I dont watch Top Gear, because they make fun of us Americans. I strickly watch it for the cars. I don't believe it will last many seasons because I dont believe Americans care about cars as much as the brits. (besides us of course on this forum). I also don't beleive the makers of the show are going to get the very nice rare cars like Top Gear. I'm worried the show is going to test drive Ford F150s and Jeep Wranglers. Crappy vehicles like that. I highly doubt they'll be getting their hands on Koeniseggs and Zondas. This is solely my opinion though. I'll still watch the show. Until they rave on about a Mercury Mariner of course.
