Rotary Article But...

Can't reproduce it here, it is from Sports Car International, the only car mag I bother with these days.

Past, Present, Future
It's not time to write the Rotary engine's obituary quite yet, says Mazda.
Dan Carney

The article says although RX-8 sales are "marginal," Mazda will not abandon the rotary- especially since it can run on almost any fuel without modification, including hydrogen or kerosene.

Oh yea? Try, no don't try, running E85 in your car. Or the other fuels listed.

It's meant as in, the motor internally requires no modification. Obviously you can't just throw a different type of fuel into the car thats setup to run on, say gasoline, and expect it to run properly.......

Hmm I'm suddenly reminded of something in Popular Mechanics I just read...something about wankel engines...I'll dig it up.

Found it. A brief bit about a "flying car"
Moller
Skycar M400

With production versions promised by 2010, this four passenger beauty is the latest in a line of Moller Skycars dating back to 1962. Using four pairs of Wankel engines the vehicle is designed for vertical takeoff and landing, and may eventually be capable of fully automatic flight.
Sweet! Now who wants their 8 running off of JP-4?
