And besides, even if it doesn't have a clutch pedal, you still have all the other stuff you have to worry about if you're going to push the car to the limits of its traction.

The biggest thing is going to be not using a single energy source -- diversity is critical to survival, not least because diversity means no single resource gets depleted faster than it can be regenerated. The big problem with burning gasoline is WE ALL burn gasoline. We need a bunch of fuels and alternate energy sources to keep from overburdening any one segment of the ecosystem with the waste of several billion people.

You know we have a multi-quote button right next to the quote button that lets you reply while quoting more than one post without having to make multiple posts in a row?

A diesel rotary would be awesome, but they would have to ensure reliability as the rotary already gets complaints for reliability. If there's any issues with it, even though it's a brand new engine, there would be a stigma against it.

I think there will always be a stigma anyway.

Actually to quote Dr Fillipenko when asked about alternative energy, he replied:

"All energy originated in the 'Big bang' we are just recycling it"

If my car burned antimatter or baby Harp seals, it came from the same source. The term "ecosystem" simply refers to a temporary state in the universe, which by definition will not last.

Nice quote! I think you're referring to Alex Fillipenko? (featured on "The Universe" & some other shows).

Also, Ultrataco, checked out your photoset on Flickr, those are some great shots! Excellent composition, color & nice filesizes. Great for a desktop background!

Anyway, I'm hoping Mazda will soon announce what they will be doing for the MY 2011 RX8, and beyond!

Don't be stupid. The super-duper-ultra-long-term is not the same as the plain-old-boring-long-term. The more **** we put into the air, the more **** we have to breathe while we're here, and the less time we'll be here before we bite the big one. I, for one, would like to think that humanity or something deriving from it could ultimately survive to see the end of the universe, and even if that's impossible, I'd still like to see as much of for myself as I can.

Just saw this on AutoBlog.com...

"stay tuned next week when we announce the new RX-7 and NSX are officially a go..."

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/24/r...pra-successor/

Looks like some definitive info may be coming out soon. Though I am not sure why this was stated in the last senetence of something completely unrelated.

I think they were being sarcastic. I guess we'll find out next week.

To summarize.

"As such, Birtwhistle told AE, "Nagare is done. After the 5, it's highly unlikely that there will be another Nagare car. Mazda has moved on." Apparently, Mazda found it rather difficult to apply the swoopy and flowing conceptual styling direction to production cars, specifically boxier shapes like that of the Mazda5.

We tend to agree with Mazda that the Nagare look is awesome on concepts but tough to translate to production."

I bet lack of sales and people talking about the look, especially the front fascia as, "A big grin or smile" was also part of the equation.

James Madison University going north on I 81 you get into PA.

With my v8 4runner got 26 mpg, with my 335i 31 mpg. Never hit those numbers again.

Everyone just needs to stop having kids. Problem solved.

What lack of sales?...dont bring the 8 into it, sales were dead long before series 2.
Mazda total sales are running in record numbers in UK, Australia, Europe, New Zealand ,Canada and big improvements in the US.
