I needed an oil change and the dealer agreed to do the recall servicing while it was in. I had not received the letter from Mazda yet. Car is an '05 6 speeed GT with about 7,300 miles.

Everything turned out fine. Only thing they needed to do was replace my spark plugs. They only had my car for the morning. I specifically asked them NOT to wash the car. However, no gas fillup or offer of rental/loaner. They did offer to drive me to work.

I'm very happy with the car and satisfied with the work they do, but a little dissappointed with the lack of loaner/gas refill. Not sure whether this is ignorance, greed, or lack of dealer participation in some program on their part. Is Mazda reimbursing them for the gas refill?

Yes they're reimbursed for the gas, so if they're not giving you the fillup they're pocketing the money. Tell them to fill it up for you as it's in the recall.

Got mine back today. I'm finally out of the god damn KIA! So I was wonedreing why my gas guage showed 1/2 a tank when they said they filled it so i went back and they swore they filled it so they took it to fill again and he brings it back and it stills shows half a tank. So teh gas guage is screwed up. Oh, and they broke my A/C temperature **** but they replaced it. So now i have to take it back to get the damn gas guage fixed. MAKE SURE TO CHECK EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU LEAVE!

There's a TSB on that, for what it's worth. Mine broke too. I hope they replaced both *****.

Does anyone have a picture of their recall sticker?

I don't think many dealers use the recall stickers. I did not get one. Of coarse, I didn't get the gas and wash either and I had to insist on getting tested even though I had a CEL last spring with major loss in power and they had it documented. I like my rep and think he does a decent job, but it's obvious that my dealer isn't firing on all all rotars. The heads of the dealers or service department heads must be deciding what MNAO directives they will abide by and what ones they wont.

Got my car back yesterday. Though my service rep said it would be a new engine, the documenation says that it's a reman. The car is definitely much stronger than it was when I took it in. My only complaint is that my aftermarket alarm and remote start no longer function. Time to get the CanZoomer reflashed and reinstalled

Got the recall done today. No issues, only reflash. 3500 miles on a new in June 2005. The car does have a noticably better throttle response. I'm in South Texas, so hot and humid. Is this just me or did the reflash really help the profile of the fuel distribution?

I'm sorry if this has been addressed but I got a blue and white "campaign label" placed on the inside of the front driver side door hinge sill. What the heck is this thing?

It's supposed to be put on your car when you get something important done - like a recall. I guess it was supposed to be an easy way to see what was or was not done to keep the car up-to-date. I got a few under my hood. If you take a look at the TSB's, they all instruct the dealership to put one on at the end of the instructions.

Thanks for the input. I really was looking for a reason to pull it. I'll keep it until the end of the warranty. any input on performance since the reflash, I feel mine is better in throtle response. I do love this car, it handles so sweet, it is fun to drive even on the way to work.

They didn't seem too concerned, only I was sceptical. But I did get a free tank of gas, so good deal I guess.

I am new to this forum and I have been reading about the recall. I got a letter last month extending my warrenty, but nothing in regards to the actuall emisions check. I asked the dealer here in Madison WI and he said until I get that letter they can't look at my car. They said I need to bring the actual letter in with me. Is he BS me or what ?

I think the recall is being performed for those in the hot dry climates first. They may roll out to the cooler states or just go on a basis of complaint for losing power.

Here is sunny south texas the dealer didn't even ask for the paperwork even though I brought it with me. So It may be that in the hot climates there may be better coordination from mazda right now. But do read the whole thing, because the free tank of gas and rental car was not exactly discussed until I pressed the issue.

Regardless of sticker, hopefully the exit paperwork copies indicate that the recall work was done. Mine did.

Gee, and I was told to bring mine in on empty and "remind" them to top it off. Mine is pretty much getting there now. My light came on 10 miles ago and it's 25 miles to my dealership from home, so it'll definitely be pushing empty!

Well, it depends on how much they would have to use to do it. I'll probably stop at the gas station and tell them I need like 2 gallons or something. Then the attendant will look at me funny again (can't pump our own gas in Oregon). I got gas on Wednesday (5 gallons) so I could do the errands I had to do and it would be at the 1/4 mark when it got to the dealership for the recall. I ended up having to do multiple other errands so now I'm not there anymore and will need about 2 gallons to get me there and be at the 1/4 tank mark again.

The control freak that I am, I thought about not having them fill it up as I wouldn't know what octane they were using and what brand of gasoline either. I only use Shell or Chevron gas, and the thought of Arco in it would make me sad.

I think they give me Mobil but I'm not sure. Based on the mileage on the car when I first got it (1.2 miles on the trip) from the time they filled it up I'm not sure where they got it from. Mobil is closer than that, not even 1/2 a mile away.

I always put Chevron in Bella if I can help it. If not she gets Shell.
