I like the new look. Best upgrades IMHO are the struts in the engine bay, wheels, and the cool inset badge on the front. Worst is the steering wheel.

All in all, I like it.
... I would buy it if it had more power ;)

Do you live in your car?:scratchhe

I like the shower in the new facelift better than the bathtub in the current model. lol

I like the new rear but prefer the old, rounded front.

chickenwafer 01-10-2008 10:31 PM

The more I look at them, someone is going to die so Chickenwafer can have those seats.....

Tail reminds me of this...

holy crap i give up -- every time i read a page and went to the next, there was another page posted already!!!

overall looks good. i love the new ms front end, but not the "rs" front end.

seats are wicked. i can't wait to get them.

moving redline is f-ing sweet.

rims are a nice change from the standard 5 spoke.

steering wheel is fugly.

about the tails - someone may have said it already, but i had to skip a few pages ... anyone notice the housing is blacked out on the inside?? FINALLY!!!!!

Can't say I am fond of the chrome under the fog lights. Or the additional height the car gains from the 19 inch wheels.

You don't have to gain height from going with a larger rim. You end up with thinner tires.

e.g; 245/35/19 is about the same as OEM on our existing rx-8s

i cant put my finger on it but something else looks amiss in the engine bay. looking at that pic it just feeellls like something else is out of place- and i dont mean the right hand drive changes

Could it be the tower brace??? double bracing across and back to the firewall....

2tone 01-10-2008 10:43 PM

love the rims, didn't even notice the rotary shape in them, looks very cool.

hopefully we can swap out the back bumper and tails with our current model, they look really good to me.

i was going to get the current ms front (which i still might do), but if i can get the new headlights, the new ms front (not the "rs" one), i'd rather have that, assuming we wouldn't have to get the front fenders as well which i don't want (but will probably have to get to match the new headlight...)

You'll definitely have to replace the fenders also.

The front is so busy it reminds me of a Pontiac Aztec

Mikeluvs8 01-10-2008 10:59 PM

There are occasions when I'm forced to nap in my car.

you think? i can't tell if the bottom of the headlight is higher, the top lower, or both sides squished. in other words, you'd think mazda would make it so we wouldn't have to swap out all THREE (front, headlight, and fenders). maybe just the front end -- if the headlight's bottom is the same). does that make sense?

it looks like the rear bumper would be a straight one-for-one swap though huh?

karstman7 01-10-2008 11:05 PM

I believe that the tails are actually the same shape...I think that the changed internals and the added ridge/lip to the trunk edge make it appear otherwise...look at the external edges and the location of the key hole....exact imo

Dude - maybe you should have purchased a Yaris so you could at least still pay rent somewhere... :scratchhe

i think so too

2tone 01-10-2008 11:08 PM

if that front splitter is the "rs" version only, i think the front might look goofy w/o it, the way it comes up like that. hard to tell. although doesn't the autobahn front come up like that (and i love the autobahn front)...

Nice job. fill in the plate so it's black and reshape it so we don't see a rectangle.

Now the car looks SWEETER.

Is your car paid off? Last time I checked, mine is.

When I take long trips I like pulling over to take naps when I get a bit tired. It's also quite relaxing to take a nap by the ocean when driving in the Malibu hills, especially when the sun is setting.
