Don't even compare the RSX with a Type R, it might not seem like it but the difference is huge when you have a higher redline and a better tuned chassis and suspension to complement that little extra power.

Don't ever drink and chat with RX-8 forum folks. They (IKE) send you links to threads that you have no intention of reading, then you post. I do believe my post said "Oh, Ike says hi to all of you" Please feel free to resume your discussion and pardon my intrusion. I have to go post this apology in many threads I guess .... I'm such a loser

The RX8 needs 30 more hp (torque) and a slightly stiffer suspension and it would be perfect. My opinion would be to add electric motors to the front wheels for torque purposes. The extra weight really shouldn't matter particularly since it's at the wheels. The resulting 100 lbs. or so in torque and say 20 hp would be very useful.

I will agree that the bodyroll on this thing is equivalent to cadillac devilles in the sportts car world.. and slapping on the Tein basics was my first major mod.

RB"comfy" springs or Teins H,S,Z,X springs whatever will not help the ridiculous amount of roll this car makes...

anyways.. being in canada.. the RX-8 is the best bang for the buck in terms of practicality, sportiness, design and uniqueness..

so in order to improve this car and still not match the aftertax price of a G35 in canada with full options you do this:

get coilovers, better swaybars than the puny little ones, lower the offset to make it look like a mean sports car and not something that looks like wheelbarrow wheels slapped on.

boost the engine and improve the worst "designer" ie Bose soundsystem ever!.. for somereason the BOSE on this car sux.. ive heard them in nissans and MBs and they all sound amazing compared to the 8.

by doing all that will get more power ,improve on the only saviour of this vehicle its handlig and have some quality SQ, while you spool away from the competition.

the above is what i think the car should have come stock but thats me.. and i know if it did minus the soundsystem..this car would have smoked EVERYTHING on that BEST MOTORING VIDEO...

It was handling fine. It got killed on the BMI video because it had no power. Oh and I suspect the sound system would not have made it faster.
