G35 doesn't have an angy hornet under the hood. So that's a no.

The Rotary exhaust is actually cooler than the V6 in G35, one reason they don't put a Turbo on the Renesis. Too little exhaust heat for the CAT to work properly.

Hey and another thing they ain't thought of Brettus is that the gas swirl flow's the opposite way here in New Zealand eh! just like the water in the plug holes

I forget the numbers, but the Renesis exhaust is still hotter than a conventional piston engine. Its just not as hot as the peripheral exhaust port rotaries (RX7).

Its a matter of taste. I think the VQ35's sound like junk. Coffee grinder comes to mind. I tend to favor a healthy V8.

But hey, you like what you like.

Lol, obviously, the rotary runs a little hotter so I'm sure the car doesn't take the extra energy to cool the exhaust...

EXHAUST COOLING - #1 WAY TO GAIN HORSEPOWER :-P. Needed for "proper" DEI!

Cool exhaust gas has increased weight and makes it harder to push it out the pipe to the back compared to hotter exhaust gas with lighter weight.
Cool Exhaust Gas will have negative effect on power output under WOT conditions because the exhaust flow effiency is reduced.

How can the exhaust gas have a higher weight?? You mean higher density I think. Anyways, back pressure is significant but not as much as in a FI due to detonation. At least I think.

Yes, I meant density.
A larger pipe (not just the tip) would reduce this effect.

Completely free, maybe. However, with proper pipes an RX-8 going uphill sounds like a 757 climbing out of SNA on one engine: 110% thrust, target pitch +45 degrees [This will give you an idea, about 22 seconds into the video.]

I love the rotary sound

It's like Taj part two... Is there some new requirement that all new members must be supremely annoying and say stupid **** all the time?
