Ok, coming back from mechanic and this is gonna work... kinda. Last year, I ordered a clutch kit and the pressure plate didnt fit. The part number was correct (MZC641) but I think it was because it was the 5 speed manual it didn't fit so I had to reuse the original one that was still in the car. So it looks like I can use that pressure plate with the rest of the stuff that came in the new clutch kit. Everything else appears like it will work aside from the pressure plate that came with the new kit. Got lucky my transmission guy kept the old pressure plate!

Ok, to update I already had the correct pressure plate. The fitment of that clutch disc I received appears to be perfect. My concern is the variance of the part numbers. Will this be an issue? All the other parts I received appear to fit correctly. Alignment tool is also the same as the OEM Exedy clutch I got for my 5 speed. I'm just gonna chance it at this point unless someone knows this is not a good idea.
not sure why you’d think anyone here is going to know for sure. The diameter and input spline are correct. The issue could potentially be if the thickness and center hub position/length is a correct match for the PP.
not that anyone else is likely to ever do that, let us know how it goes ...
but I’m going to be true to myself and call you out for being such a noob to go through all this just to end up throwing a new disc of unknown compatability with a used PP rather than getting the correct new parts in the first place. This makes as much sense as the cheapo coilover kit you installed and initially raved on about, but then later admitted it needed to be replaced with the correct coilovers.

Nah I paid good money to make sure it was an Exedy kit. The PP going on is brand new and is the correct part number. The coilovers still going strong! Gonna keep them for a while longer, possibly another year. They aren't special but for the price it's good. I'm at a point now where I can afford better ones and they aren't too bad to change out.
Apparently these clutch discs are interchangable it's just the pressure plate that doesnt fit. Luckily I happened to already have a spare correct and brand new pressure plate to use that is also Exedy. Should be good to go now keep you posted as well as to how the new clutch works out. It was a shipping error on their end but I can make it work.

Ok so the old clutch disc was completely shot as you can tell from the pic. Only difference appears to be in the springs. The seller says this clutch disc works for an RX8. Here's hoping..
This clutch kit fit perfectly. In fact, ended up using the pressure plate in the kit I got. It actually matched perfectly with the PP that came off the car. So yes, this kit does in fact work perfectly fine for this car. The clutch feels brand new again! Great to have my RX8 back on the road where it belongs.
