I went to jail for speed contest, it was just a cite and release.
I just got an exhibition of speed for a tire chirp into second gear... that was pretty lame.
So Im waiting to figure that one out...

around here you dont even lose your license for exhibition driving :/
i guess north dakota just doesnt care LOL
its a 5 point ticket here, and any minor has no more then 6 points so its almost a lost license (have to go through the permit process again, which is only 6 mo long here)

You can drive on the roads with a passenger who is drinking alcohol, and the first dui is just a small fine and a slap on the wrist.

Just join the military and wear your uniform everywhere. When I was home for leave on Christmas, I was driving home on a really long straight road where there were no cars at the time. None other than a slow *** mail car doing 30mph in a 45mph. I had never seen cops on this road before, it was straight, and there was a passing zone. So what do I do? Pass of course, but at a higher rate of speed than required. As I got passed him I noticed a police car hiding behind some trees no more than 45 yards up, as I looked down at my speedo, my heart sank down to my stomach. It read "95mph"....in a 45... So I immediately slow down and put my blinker on to pull over, sure enough he flips on his lights and pulls right behind me, saying over the intercom to pull onto the side street ahead, I proceed to do so using blinker and very low speed. He sits in his car a while behind me and finally comes up to the car, hands on cuffs. He asks for DL and all that good stuff so I give him everything, including my military ID (I am also wearing my uniform as I did not get the chance to change yet). He took about 10 minutes in his car and finally came back up and talked to me for what seemed like forever (probably another 15 minutes). He was in the airforce for 22 years and just started going on and on about it. After his long speech and our conversation about being smart in uniform, he said he bumped the speed clocked down to 65mph (30MPH LESS!) so he could give me a WARNING.
He said he had every right to arrest me, impound my car, and pretty much destroy my life. Which he did have every right to do, but didn't.
Long story short: My uniform and smooth talking saved me. Doesn't have much to do with your situation, just reminded me of my own. Though I never got nailed with anything, it still was a waking moment for me. I realized that was probably my only chance of ever getting off easy like that, and I follow the speed limits within 5mph every where I go now. (Give or take on some deserted back roads).
All in all, some of us just have to learn the hard way. In your case the really shitty, hard way. It's not going to go like you hope it will so just look at it as a life lesson. It's not worth it man. Even at the lower speeds, you gotta be extra cautious especially depending on where you live and where you are at the time. Public places are not the place to even rev it up.
Live and learn my friend, good luck with court and just be as compliant and respectful as possible as they absolutely hate it when a snotty teenager with big attitude comes in thinking he's God.

Many years ago, two friends and myself were driving from Tampa, FL to Watkins Glen, NY.
We got pulled over in Virginia speeding about 90. The cop told the driver. "Iam arresting you for driving this vehicle in a reckless manner". The driver was not the owner. He was in shot gun seat. Iwas in the back with a bucket KF chicken and a case of beer in the trunk and few empties on the back floor. He then told the owner, "I am arresting you for allowing your vehicle to be driven in a reckless manner"? We followed the highway patrol officer to the magistrates office. Paid $125.00 and hauled *** for the Glen. The car was a 1968 Ford Torino and one of the rare 428 Cobra Jet Engines and hauled ***. Thank goodness he did not check the trunk or spot the empties on the back floor.
I would hate to see what the fine would be today.

not to mention radar detectors probably would not have helped in this situation b/c the cop probably did not have his radar on, but still would have seen everything and still written for the same ticket.

also my friend told me of 2 chargers going head to head went right by a cop and the cop didnt do anything. except for one time it again was a charger and 2 mustangs i believe except this time the cop was in a charger. put his lights on, and one of the mustangs crashed. so i guess it depends on the cop.
back to the OP, good luck with everything. As previously stated, dont go be driving next to them but rather in front or ahead. and stay off of main roads! lol

Illinois blows dick on laws. I got pulled over for "rolling a stop sign" in my 8 this weekend. It's in quotes because it's bullshit. I ended up getting a city ordinance ticket for $75, but it's still bs. I brought the ticket to my boss (I'm a clerk at a local law office), and she's going to call the cop. There's no way in hell I could have ran the stop sign either. I had to wait for a car coming from the right before I pulled across the road. The cop was approaching from the left though and saw me creeping forward.

Get a lawyer. I got a reckless driving ticket because a cop said I was doing 85 in a 45. The dumbass clocked clocked a black Mustang that turned off. I was in my SRT Challenger. The cop kept telling my I would probably lose my license, and was lucky he wasn't taking me to jail. I got a lawyer and got it reduced to a parking ticket with no points on my license for a total cost of $156. My speeding/reckless driving ticket was $700 plus what ever points they would levy against my license. You can't argue with a cop at the scene, but a lawyer can do the fighting for you in court. I hated getting a ticket for something I didn't do, but what's done is done. Just don't go in to court without a lawyer or at the very least a ticket fixer. If you do you'll regret it. Good luck.

That doesn't work in Virginia. ESPECIALLY in Hampton Roads, where almost everybody around here is Navy. And they happen to be some of the most senselessly aggressive drivers I see around here. Cops show no mercy for people in uniform around here.

Haha I know, merely a joke. I just got really lucky that one time. Plus I have great manners when it comes to that kind of stuff. Where I'm stationed in North Carolina, they probably target the Army more as well. ESPECIALLY on base, 2mph over the speed limit is risky. I go the exact speed limit or probably a few under everywhere. Moral of story: Just be smart.

i'm a cop and if i saw two cars accelerating together in an abrupt manner, i would have thought that the cars were racing.. whether they exceeded the speed limit or not, from another perspective, it does look as though the cars would be racing. ohio has a law against excessive acceleration, even if it is just to the speed limit. drag racing here in ohio is a 6 point offense, which seeing as you are only allowed 12 points, really puts a damper on your driving record. put yourself in the officer's shoes and try to see it from his point of view. two young guys in sports cars accelerating quickly..that equates to racing in most people's eyes. my best advice to to go to court and tell the truth. explain yourself and be nice to the magistrate. getting a lawyer MAY help but as a juvenile, the punishment will be harsh either way.

Its all over but the shoutin now.
(Not that I would know, but . .. )
Here in California, you would be losing your license for 6 months, and in my county you would have had your car crushed.
This is one of the hardest tickets to fight.
Lawyer up and pray for the best.
Good luck!!!
