I actually had the carbon build-up issue. Driving to work daily, I don't get a chance to really run the engine hard. I guess I haven't really taken advantage of that beautiful redline beep in a while. Guy at the dealership tried to feed me some bs about having to do a fuel injector cleaning to prevent that from happening again. sure, anything to get me to spend more money. Lets see, $130 based on their recommendation, or free based on everyone else I have ever heard talking about preventing carbon build-up... besides the free option is a helluva lot more fun!

Twas all said in fun. Even redlining 3rd gear to get 4th gear chirps would result in about 90mph. Not a cool thing to do on city streets either.

That would not be possible - As I've heard it 6th gear doesn't have the power to overcome wind resistance beyond a certain point so max speed is in 5th gear (and that's not at redline either).
Thermal overloading probably isn't too good in the long (or short) term, either.
