When your Renesis crosses over, will you replace it with another?

I don't know, it depends on how well I mantained the car as a whole. If everthing else is good I probably would replace the engine if it dies. Cheaper than buying a new one. Hard to part with a car like this.

I think either an X16 (if I can afford it) or have it rebuilt by a pro to racing spec with no Turbo.

Also:
I drive 40,000mi a year. I will be replacing my motor before the end of 2008 (remind me to post mileage pictures - I'm probably one of the top scorers on these forums)

As of right now I feel like I would like to keep this car for the rest of my life. It might not be my daily in a few years, but it's just too perfect for me to ever justify getting rid of it.

I'm going to keep my 8 for as long as I can afford to. Until it gets to the point where I'm selling my belongs so I can pay for repairs and replacement parts, Victoria will be by my side. The only way I would ever get rid of her would be if the next generation of RX's were modled after the 8 & not the 7.

A year ago I would have slapped myself for saying that, but I've fallen in love with having 4 seats & a usable trunk.

feeling geektastic today:

If (current_selling_price + cost_of_planned_mods) > price_of_new_car_with_no_mods_needed then (sell)
else (keep_and_mod)

^ agreed. although, i'm pretty sure it's going to be keep_and_mod unless magically a cheap and low-maintenance FI comes out that produces 400 hp and 300 ft/lbs of torque... (but then, i'd have an even better reason to keep it)

I never keep cars for more than 6 years. I'd prefer 3-4 if I could (expecting to be in the market in 2011). Always something new or different to try out.

Unlike my wife my car or my computer won't mind if I trade up for a newer, hotter, faster model so why not.
