Cool Whats your Fastest Corner?

Its been a few months now with me and my 8 , getting a little bolder on the turns and pushing my car to the limits. I here all the talk about how twisties and turns are the "Real" of the car so i see myself not slowing down when im crossing the intersection, just pushing harder on the pedal and letting the back end slide on a 105 degree turn at 60mph. What was your best corner?

I'm not sure, I take some off rams (4 leaf design) @ about 70 sometimes, I can tell I could push it just a little more but I don't want to risk the wreck, One of my RX7's got loose on me

I just know that overall this car is the best handling car I've ever driven. I like it on some swooping S turns.

Finding that out on the street is stupid, if you want to see how hard the car can corner come out to an autocross where you can do it in a safe and timed/meaningful location. Taking a high speed corner and LOOKING DOWN to see how fast you're going on a public road is crazy.

Uncivilized, PM me if you're interested. I'm in Dallas as well and help run the North TX S2000 autocrosses, we're having one next, next saturday Sept 29th.

You might want to take that kind of behavior elsewhere than at intersections... maybe at least to the highway or someotherplace where you won't plow thru a pedestrian or another car... sorry just had an MR2 almost fly over me recently he tried to cross an intersection at close to 100mph and lost it... lucky he didn't die.

/end

But I agree with you about the whole RX-8 in a curve thing... I haven't seen where the car "loses it" yet and that frightens me because everytime I take a curve a lil' faster than before, and next time it's still a lil'faster... and I'm wondering when it'll be "too much" lol. That car really sticks to the road.

I'll be finding out on October 5th when I go to Mid-Ohio raceway. Let's see how fast I can take the Keyhole.

NO not every corner but im sure none of us out there can sit and say they never have broken the law outside of the track, sped or didnt come to a complete stop before hitting a corner. everyones habits are different of course when i made my comment it was a spur of the moment test of the car after having it 6 months if there is anyone that has posted that has not tested the limit of thier car, let them speak now

My favorite corner was a cloverleaf style exit ramp from 1 highway to another with my dad in the car. Seeing him grab the hand holds and go "Oh ****!" as i down shifted into 3rd and took the entire loop at 45-50mph. Were I a more competent driver, I could probably take it a lot faster, but I like not dying/crashing/getting pulled over.

No use in looking down at the speed during a corner when im pretty sure the whole point of taking the corner is to maintain the speed through to the end

about 55mph on the off ramp, which is a pretty tight corner and is long... Didn't really push it so no tire squeal...

I would have to say my fastest corner is the Kink at Road America. Right around 90-100 mph.

i took this lonnng *** s-turn on ramp flat out. was doing probably 115 in a turn... then i lifted off the throttle because the car started to understeer, and then the *** end began to swing out. lets just say the only reason why my car is still here today is because of the DSC !

I'm with you Ike....the whole debate about speeding in corners is one thing. If you drive too fast into one you crash...end of story.

Yep, its totally not from your driving skill. So let me get this straight, you were turning, started to lose control so you backed off the throttle?

Went above 70 mph in a loop road connecting to the expressway. Had to dodge some cars in the process. Sorry it wasn't a corner though. Pretty fun if I don't say so myself..

For those who want to picture it.. Here's the road on google map. Maybe some in the area have been on it.. Click here!
