I got a ticket for failure to obey traffic sign, when I did stop.

cops in my area has nothing to do ~ all they do is hide somewhere around the stop sign to wait for people go *run thru it*

I didnt and they still ticketed me .... damn *******.

funny my car has a few minor illegal mods on it and all the cops in my hood know me.....if they need to get in front of me i always yield, if i see them at an intersection trying to get in i purposely stop and let them in......i always wave....and i have been pulled over but thats just to talk tuner talk

I don't think its illegal, although I must say the photo ticket would be harder to catch you, try sunglasses etc etc?

Pshhhh, same here. It's in my windshield and I believe there was a thread started about texans not having to have a front license plate anymore? Anywho, cops and sheriffs are always eye-balling me as I pass by. Maybe it's the colour but I don't know. I bet they're aching to pull me over. Oh wait...they already have.........

Ironically, you get more that business in the big cities than you do in the country areas. In places like mississippi or alabama, you normally wouldn't be in that "wrong" area to be stopped, nor are there as many police around, and if they are around, you know where they hang out and where they don't. Country areas are great for driving, not so many cops around, empty roads.....nice times

Dude its not the car at all I think the cops are just hoping youll run! when i first got my car i didnt have plates on it. i got pulled over 5 times before i put my plates on and ive been pulled over many times since then. I used to drive an impala, never pulled over once in that! hmmm

It could be worse you could have been followed and shot like Foley from the chargers.
stupid rookie cop follows him all the way from downtown sd to poway (that's about 20-30 miles) and then pulls him over.....mind you that this cop is driving his mazda 6 and waring t-shirt and jeans. shows no badge.

my experience with cops have been 50/50. some of them are really professional and do their jobs right and then you have the ******** who are just on a power trip who give the PD a bad name.

Also the police will probably know you and your car... looking like something from Red Line makes the police, whoes life may depend on car recognition, come over just to check an 8 out - especially if it is a novelty - if you are friendly they are usually friendly also...

And if you ask them about their engine and speed they love to brag about it just like any other car lover - Their car is their home, office, point of security and they can be as nuts about detailing it as you are!

Well, when they tag *most* cars doing 85-90 mph it's usually a quick catch. When the sports car blows by at 85-90 there's more power & handling to bump it up another 20 mph real quick and be gone b4 they can get off the side of the road and have a decent chance to catch up. So there's a tendency for any sports car to remind 'em of the "one that got away."

At least, that's what I've heard from a few po-po friends of mine. It's certainly never something I would do.

No, it's not a matter of outrunning a cop car. I'm talking about the cop on the side of the highway that has to catch up to you from a stand still. A sports car has what it takes to really pour it on and prevent the cop from ever having the chance to get out on the road and accelerate to catch up.

Put it this way, none of the friends of mine that are fuzz have EVER told me a story about the mini-van, jeep, camry, etc. that "got away." Does this mean none of those cars ever have? Of course not. It just means that the Porsche, Mustang, 8, or any other sports car stands out in the memory more.

-- actually, just a few days ago I was slowing down in the center lane of the highway home, b/c I was cresting a hill to a known cop spot. I watched a Caddy SUV come blasting by (I'd guess about 90) on my left and just laughed b/c I knew the cop spot. Sure enough, cop was there, but traffic was too heavy for him to get off the side of the road. The caddy was the 'one that got away' that day. I smiled and gave the guy a 'well done' as I watched him (or her?) blast down the next exit and disappear. --
