Most of the people I know don't even know what my car is yet alone how much it weights. Some of use still like to save money and weight by getting the base model. Hardly anyone here has a stripped down circuit racers, a lot of use have autox and road race cars with full interiors. Stripped out interiors usually put the car in a more competitive modified class.

thats pretty sweet.
i ask cause everyone knows that losing weight is the best way to increase horsepower so i want the best power to weight ratio right out of the box so when im playing in BS next year maybe the lack of weight will help cover for my lack of skillz. besides i have a boheamouth(sp?) of a car in the form of v8 lexus that has at least two of every possible gadget you can stuff into a road going vehicle.

the base didnt change any 04-08. just the name. who cares if its called sport or base.
get an 05+ model that has no dsc/tc and you are good to go. the dsc/tc button is to the left and down of the steering wheel. next to the dash light brightness wheel.

yes no major changes, but any change for the most part is going to weigh more..
so i am going to say that 04 base is going to weigh the least.. and i think that was the question..
i can state the stuff that has been added if you like..
but i will give you one easy. updated starter and battery..

you start with less you win.. but if starting with less means you have to add more?
who knows.
i really just answered the question..
but really for the lightest rx8 the 04 base is going to do it.. all you have to do is go through the tsbs to find more weight.the lightest car was / is teamrx8s.. it comes in at ~2500lbs..
but lots to give up!
