Sorry to go off topic but I feel like calling out monchie. I don't have a high post count because most of the time the info I have questions to is already out there (search+read>getting flamed). Anyways I've noticed a trend with monchie. he posts bs that I even think is ridiculous and then he gets criticized for it. Honestly monchie if you'd learn anything you'd just be quiet and learn to read. If you can't do that then I suggest selling your 8 and buying a civic. At least your ricer knowledge will be welcomed on those forums.

His post count goes up hundreds each week, and, as usual, zero are useful.
He deserves what he gets

For the first $1,000 ($1,100 really) in mods, I highly highly highly suggest this: http://www.skipbarber.com/mazdadriving.asp

C'mon, give cut him a little slack, Monchie may like a lowered vehicle, I sure do, it does give you a lower CG , looks good, and cheap to do . And, the OP did ask for suggestions .

Actually, while lowering the car DOES lower the center of gravity, the stock height wasn't an accident. The race teams have proven that it's the best height for the suspension geometry. You lose more lowering it than you gain by a lower center of gravity.
And lets be honest, it's center of gravity is already ridiculously low.
And Monchie cut his springs to lower the car, which is about the worst possible way to do it, rendering his personal opinion worthless in this topic.

If you like a sports car to look like a four wheel drive, with almost 2" of space between the tyre and guard , that's cool , I don't , The competition 8's I have seen , albeit on the net or TV ,don't look stock height .
I didnt know Mr Miller was going to race his car , so, Mr Miller , you best not lower it to improve it's aesthetics , according to riwwp , you won't be able to race it successfully .
Buy a decent set of tyres and drive it like you stole it , on a closed circuit of course .

I appreciate your concern. I will really look into that and probably trade my rx8 to a ricer civic with turbo, supercharger, microchip, fart exhaust, chopped springs, chrome rims, very high spoiler, and a v-tec sticker (will add 1 hp to the wheels), then i'll be looking at my side mirrors looking at your stock height rx8, and yelling..."see you later sucka"!

Public complaints about other members are personal attacks. And therefor, are against RX8Club Rules of Conduct.
If any member has a problem with another member, put them in your Ignore List (User CP) and you won't have to see their posts again. Unless they are quoted that is.
I have a feeling people are posting here to inflate their post count. If this was moved to The Lounge, most of these posts wouldn't exist.
