What type of driving for break-in?

OK, so obviously I'll be breaking in my new 8 when I get it. But what type of driving would be better? Commuting to and from work (15 miles each way with little-to-no stop-and-go traffic), or a nice long road trip to Vegas, driving five hours non-stop (with CC of course, to ensure my heavy foot doesn't push it above the max RPMs)? Of course it's not too difficult to guess which I'm hoping for, but would it be better to let the engine rest every once in a while, or would it be OK to drive 350 miles, pausing only once for gas?

There is a similar thread running which indicates that you should not take the engine above 5,000 rpm until after 500 miles. Additionaly, you MUST change the oil @ 300 miles. So Vegas is too far. Also I remember reading that you should vary the speeds during the break in period.

SECONDLY: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY DISNEY DESTROYER?????

(I just left working there after 5 years, to work with my prior Disney boss at Artisan Entertainment)

Avoid the trip to Vegas...that's only good for breaking in your wallet

Seriously though, as puppy1 already stated, you want a break in which varies the engine speed a lot. My idea of a great break in would be a long cruise in the mountains: lots of twisties to let you enjoy the handling of your new car and at the same time you will vary your engine speed quite a lot. Just don't push the engine real hard until you've finished the break in.

Thanks for the info, I saw that other thread but didn't read carefully to see that it indicated you should vary the RPMs.
