I'm sure the good old tranny-fluid-in-the-spark-plug-hole solution will help loosen it up a bit.

Misinformation!

The flywheel is rated for 10K revs. The engine goes into harmonic resonance at 12500 revs. Harmonic resonance means your engine will literally shake itself to pieces. Luckily, There's no good reason to rev that high, and the rev limiter will stop you any how.

OP, If you are intent on driving the 8 the way you describe, sell it and buy a used accord.

Drive the car hard, get to the speed limit as fast as possible, and your car will be happy. The 9k rev limit isn't just for show. As long as you give it time to warm up you won't hurt it.

Oyeah.. don't forget to check your oil every now and then and carry a quart with you in the trunk.

9,000rpm is perfectly fine... it's a WANKEL!

I don't trust any piston engine near redline, but i'll drive a Wankel in the buzzer zone no problem.

It can sustain high rpm driving as proven time and time again.

EDIT: here is a link to a video of a couple guys trying to kill a rotary engine that has a blown rotor
