my rx8 has the Smartkey thingy. I'm just wondering when you bring the car for service, which key would you give to the tech? The auxiliary key or the entire Smartkey?

 

Haven't had mine serviced yet (scheduled for May 12), but I have taken it to the car wash a couple of times. I used the aux key and kept the smart key in my pocket. I will probably do the same at the dealer. Did this mainly because I have my house, mailbox and office keys on the same ring.

 

I just give them the smart key.

cuz its not that hard for them to joy ride your car. if they really want to.

I have nothing on my smart key, however.

 

The smart key....not sure why it would matter.

 

I mean dealerships has accept to everything. They can even program your ECU to accept some other keys.

so it doesnt really matter which key you give them. I mean really...

 

you must have a pretty bad dealership.
