Replaced my passenger rear door, fixed/centered my exhaust tips in my shrouds and painted my shrouds flat black. All this was done by noon.

And what's your reasoning behind not leaving that now free space above your radiator fans open?

because the last thing you need is to incubate your intake with direct hear being pulled from the radiator. also, it allows for the air to follow the natural flowpath that was designed

I traded mine in yesterday for a 99 Miata and some cash. It was an awesome car but I didn't have enough money to pay for some upcoming maintenance. It needed a new trans, new suspension and the Central Locking System was really screwy. I had an awesome 4 months with the car and hopefully one day I can get another or better yet an RX-9 or whatever. Thanks for all the help and info.

P.S. If you find a Copper Red Shinka in the Lexington, KY area with a black evil m on the front and a white aux chord in the cup holder I wouldn't recommend buying it.

Traded mine in for a '15 Outback. I'm liking the new car but I will miss the 8 terribly. We had a great 9 years together.

Drove it to the nearest gamestop to pick up my copy of destiny about 60 miles round trip. Stopped to get fuel and a gentleman around his mid 40s asked me what kind of car it was and why mazda stopped making them. He said it was a shame that they don't make them anymore because they look great.

Plug inspection post engine replacement

Pulled my plugs just to inspect them since my engine replacement in 2/2014. Engine has approximately 4300 miles on it now. I guess they look pretty good compared to my plugs changed at 27K. I guess I expected them to look a little cleaner for some reason. I only use premium QT or Chevron gasoline, and I premix every tank with 3.5oz of Amsoil Saber Professional. Engine runs strong and revs great with no issues, but it felt fine before my engine compression test so who knows.

Also, my rear rotor housing has the following number stamped on it:
C9253
043

and the front rotor housing has the following number stamped on it:
C9199
019

I don't remember seeing numbers like these stamped on the housing on the original engine. Anyone know if these are numbers are unique to remanufactured engines and if so do they indicate anything meaningful?

Fixed the no heat/no AC problem with the temperature control **** by resoldering the board.
