OZ is going to stop making the David wheels so I am trying to make up my mind while I can still get a set. I want to replace the factory wheels but having a hard time making up my mind, I am very particular about my 8. I like 5 star wheels just wish they came in black, and I know what you mean about the lugs I made the mistake of buying some at the Mazda dealer they think they are made of gold..lol..thanks for the info...

You missed the dent on the lower end of your fender... Sweet turn out, does the color blend with the rest of the car?

I didn't do anything to my 8 so far since the alarm system install but I did just ordered a pioneer AVIC-940BT looked up some threads on the install for it here so I think I ordered everything I need and all set.

Man here in Central Texas it's nice to drive my 8 with the windows rolled down this time of year :D

Dropped the oil, new oil filter and 5/30 Semi stuck in. Then decided to give ti a clean (which them promptly made the heavens open and it poured with rain lol) and then gave all the dashboard a wipe down and polish... looking nice :-)

Warmed her up in the garage, checked tire pressures, then took her out to fill up the gas tank. Checked the oil when i got back and checked for salt on the underside and wheel wells. Then put her back to bed.

Here's a sight that might be familiar with [more than] a few RX-8 owners:

At least I got free towing and will likely get all this covered under warranty/extended warranty. All signs point to a flooded engine. Didn't want to do any home fixes since I'm not sure how that would work with my warranty. That, and I'd like them to find out for me whether or not the ignition also needs replacing.

Last Thursday, I got my garage door opener replaced, and I fucked up and backed it out and let it shut down while still cold--and it was surprisingly cold here in Phx that day. What's even worse is, I did it TWICE! I didn't heed the warning of the extended time it took to start the car after the first cold start/stop. I pulled it back up into the garage after the garage guy was done. I started it, pulled it back in, and ******* turned the car off like an idiot. Mind you, this was after it was sitting in outside air for a couple of hours, cooling down even more than when it was in the garage.

Lesson learned.

we don't get many stories about S2s flooding. Yes, the flat-bed is an all too common scene for me. The local shop knows me by name and honks at me everytime they see me out and about.

AAA hates me ... local garage w/ flatbed loves me.

I spend all day, basically every single day on another Mazda forum, but that forum has ZERO activity in the RX8 subforum, so I'll guess I'll use this one for the '8 and the other for my MSP.

I drove it. Haven't done much since getting it other than basic maintenance: Oil & Filter, Coolant, Transmission fluid, Differential fluid, Cabin filters, Spark plugs, Tire rotation/balance... Ordered a set of wires today... Missed out on a NIB AP catless midpipe... I knew that would happen because he was only asking $75...

Loaded up the trunk with about 200 lbs of gear, strapped in two passengers and food in the seats, drove up 330 miles non-stop(except for gas) to Mammoth Ski Resort.

New Red Top for me today after a few scary close starts in the colder weather. Was going to change the plugs because the car inspection told me they were aftermarket but they were almost new NGK's. Spent $65 for now reason.

Got my car back today, and it was indeed flooded. Because my service guy is a ******* magician, I got my car compression-tested and got new plugs along with the deflood, at no out-of-pocket cost.
