It's used to mark bolts/nuts that have been torqued down. If they start to break loose the striping will break giving you a visual indication.

Normally you only put a thin stripe. We called it torque stripe or nut goo.

Today she is getting her first real mechanical upgrades! Koyo HH-series radiator (48mm core), Samco coolant line kit (6 piece) and RB cat-back. Shiny

Don't forget the restrictors in the coolant lines.

I have a Samco kit, i didn't like the way they fit.

So I got RB and some stock.

When your nut goo is red you should probably see a doctor.

My son and I painted the calipers today. Took us about 3 1/2 hours and done. It was either going to be black or red.

Did the first oil change under my ownership, replaced the cabin air filters and installed a cable for my iPod to the GTA Pure Bluetooth kit. Checked in and out underneath. Very solid example that has no hidden secrets. It's exactly as great as I thought it would be.

Also, confirmed a couple of days ago that the whole family fits. 2 year old, 6 month old with plenty of room for the two parents in the front.

That gta bluetooth kit is a really good buy. I've had mine for about a year with no issues.

Nope. It's paint I had laying around. Used it to mark the position of the PPF before I removed it to replace the differential. Yes, I was a bit sloppy.

Went to my second SCCA Track Night at NJMP yesterday. Still learning how much more grip the 245 G-Force Rival S has. Had a great time. Those track nights are really laid back, but quality and organization is definitely still there. SCCA seems to be doing a great job with the program.

I dig it. My car came with the PURE version, so there was no provision for iPod control. My iPod classic has a bad headphone jack that only outputs to the left channel. This has been a problem with every click-wheel iPod I've owned. This meant I could not use the AUX in on the PURE unit. Also, I could not easily charge my iPod. Then I found this for about $5 on Amazon Prime.

All I need to do now is make a cradle for my iPod within easy reach for skipping tracks back and forward on playlists and I'm set.

Yep, did some long distance driving with everybody and no complaints about space. Will be driving down to California soon in it, about 600 miles.

The tan is a nice touch that I don't see very often. I'm pretty sure it's only in Shinka models, which are also pretty rare to see in White. As I mentioned earlier, I spent three years searching for a well kept Whitewater Pearl RX-8, and this is the first white Shinka I've seen in person.

Took my front suspension apart. Lost the top nut to the strut on the track.
Had to use the spring compress on the car to get it out. That wasn't dangerous at all.

It's f*&ked. Adjuster bashed-in, shock oil all over.

People, nut-n-bolt everything once a year if you track it.
I did the entire suspension this spring except these two damn nuts which I forgot.
Murphy then stuck his boot up my *** last weekend and I did not enjoy it.
Ah well, both sides were leaking anyway...

Finally back on the ground and the physical part of my S2 drivetrain swap is now done, now all that's left is rewiring the interior and it will be a complete S2

I feel your pain bud, when you think you have covered it all then a tiny shock nut goes missing/fails in action!!...

But yeah, Mazda are going through some issues with front and rear shocks on some of the latest Skyactiv models, and they ALWAYS demand in TSB's the top shock piston nut be replaced with a new one (not re-usable at any age/mileage), I think this applies with the RX-8 and many other older models too....just don't reuse them, ever.

Checked electrical connections and drove it around the block to test shift points. Tomorrow I shall expand the radius and hopefully fix the EPS issue...

Today, after 6 months of trying to get my 8 running, it's finally running at 100%. For the past month it's been having problems and I couldn't drive it with confidence. But NOW, it turns out my AutoZone MAF sensor was **** so i replaced it with a $300 one straight from the stealership (where i also met one of the most beautiful women of my life (stay away )) and guess what?!? My 8 is SO much better now, I can not believe it! It's crazy, I love it.

Swapped out an old starter for a new one in my recently acquired RX8. Never seen the smaller version of the starters until today....
