OK...

I just bought this RX8 last week, and I keep getting a "cat" code... So I'm assuming it needs to be replaced...


I have a friend that works at a Mazda dealership, but it's not close...


I'd like to know what to tell them to get everything I can fixed... the car has 76k miles... So I need it done ASAP.





Here's what my friend sent me... anyone see anything I need to get addressed?

So far, I know this...

It idles low, sometimes dies, I accidentally flooded it this weekend and almost never got it started....

A/C temp control doesn't work... 1st gear is hard to downshift to while moving...
And I'm sure I'll think of some more...

Any help would be AWESOME.

The basic warranty on this car is expired. About the only thing you can get worked on is the CAT, that warranty is good to 80,000. Your engine is covered to 100,000 you could ask for them to test for the possible need of a rebuilt motor, worse they can say is no. You could also need new plugs do to the flooding. Your at the time / miles for new coils & wires also. Again that would be out of your pocket, the bumper / bumper warranty expired last year.

 

Ok... that's fine. I've been thinking of getting coils and plugs soon... Can anyone point me toward a good how-to?? I'm pretty versed mechanically... but not rotar-ily!
