Visit the Dealership late at night?

Do you ever catch yourself driving by your local dealership to see how many 8's they have on the lot, then late one night you go up there and peek in the windows and check out the sticker, and admire the color(s) you didn't choose? I did it tonight. What is it about this car that can make you do something as silly as that? I mean I have one in my garage...why did I need to go up there and look at other ones?

I kept showing up there after lunch on Fridays. I only work till noon on Fridays, then have lunch with my wife, then go to the bank cuz my employer doesn't do direct depoits (pain in the butt!). Anyway, the dealer is along the way to the bank, so I used to just drop by. The one salesman said they oughtta just put me on the payroll. Teehee.

edit: Hey RX-GR8... I know what you mean. Notice that I wrote in the past tense. I wanted them to buy mine back so I could get another with nav, plus a few grand worth of other goodies. I wanted my salesguy to knock off the would-be-lost $500 (american express cash card) + another $1,200 (value of the free maintenance). Just take that off the MSRP of the new car. He would have done the $500 (only if I didn't tell anybody), but not the $1,200. He was starting to kind of act all upset &, you know, really quite stupid about it all. There was about $1.300 profit left in the price, but he started playing the "well, we are limited to a quota of only so many cars, blah blah blah..." I said, yeah, sure you are, blah, blah, blah... That was it. The deal was not gonna fly & he escorted me to the door..."next!" Well, it definitely soured my feelings considerably with him. Shoot, I almost even liked the guy. Good thing service is separate from sales...

No. He already knew that the loan would be thru peoplefirst (CapitolOne), like the first time. And the manager was in & out & the salesguy was in & out of the office so much the whole time, my head was spinning & I was feeling a bit woozy over it all in the end.... Still pissed off that it didn't work. Jerks!

Ummm...I'm guilty too, rx8ntexas!

So the dealer where I bought my '8 is right across the street from a Trader Joe's and well, there's always a reason to cross the street and check out the cars, hassle my salesman etc. Before I got my car I was threatening to go to the dealer every weekend and sit in the showroom '8 and just meditate on the total goodness of this car. It's addictive. I just finished Zaino'ing my '8, but I'm afraid I might have broken some cosmic law of physics because my Miata and my '8 are now both Zaino'd and there's this infinite reflection going on Miata in 8 in Miata in 8... Shiny is good :p

I just had my oil changed at 2500K (break in cycle) and had the dealer add a few goodies.. You are right.. I woundered to the showroom and sat on a couple they had on the floor.. They had the first "green" one I had seen live.. Boy, what a great color.. If I would have seen it before I got mine it would have been tough choosing between the Tit/green. So far i have had a great relationship w/ the dealer and service dept. Love my new red foot red lights, but I wish they stayed on longer!

Lol...I do it quite regularly infact...the dealership I bought it from is a block down my street. So usually when I leave the theatre late at night...I stop by there and just admire some of the other 8's on their lot. I guess it's not that I have one of my own...but it's the car itself...it's like fine swords and blades for sword collectors, pedigree dogs for breeders, you get the idea...the car itself is a work of art that goes against traditional perception.
