Welp I am throwing my hands up- and not for a woot woot! I am calling Mazda tomorrow because I have done everything within my own limited capability to fix any issues, and still no start. I hope that they honor their offer to replace the affected parts. It's spring...I wanna drive the car!!!!!

 

Car won't start? What problems you have? What year and mileage? Need info.

 

2004 m/t less than 50,000 miles. took it in for no start and they replaced plugs. Not long after it came back it had power loss, started vibrating, dying at stop signs and smoking out of the ebrake compartment as well as the hood and trunk. I had to pull over and it wouldn't start after that. We put it on a trailer and brought it home, I changed the coils and still no start. will turn over but no start.

 

possible starter problems? they have the upgraded starter for manual only..
i got an 04 a/t 4 speed, and im having odd starting problems, yours sound more severe.. oh and mine has 87k miles

 

It's my thought that maybe one of the rotors is dumping fuel into the cat? But I honestly have no clue, I checked my vin against the tsb's and noticed I had several of the problems mentioned. Im not exactly mechanically inclined, so I am kind of in the dark here.

 

i believe i know what you're talking about.. I got a printout too from Mazda with all the recalls and such, and i think all of them were accounted for. didnt stop mine from getting a lemon sticker.
if its all under warranty still, take it back.. and the engine core warranty is till 2014 i believe (10 year 100k mile), so if something happened to your apex seals, that'd be covered after a compression check

 

I am going to give them a call tomorrow to see what they can/will do. I have oil change/plugs/coil reciepts but not receipts from only adding oil- So Im not sure how far I'm going to get with them.

 

if that was a factor in them not helping you.. i guess try another dealership, cuz there isnt much you can do when your car needs oil, especially when oil for this car is just like gas, or at least mine is

Did you ever have your CEL codes read?
Did you ever have the catalytic converter checked?

From what I recall, it sounded like your cat was toast. If it is, it is still under Mazda warranty. Don't worry about oil receipts and whatnot. The cat is separate from the engine core warranty.

I havent had the CEL codes ran yet or converter checked; after the car stopped running a second time I thought i should send it to mazda for those things and everything else. We were supposed to call them today but didn't get time- Hopefully it will get done tomorrow.
