Uninsured/Unlicensed/Illegal Immigrant =
This:

I don't know what its total cost to fix is yet, but the headlight, front bumper, under cover, front air dam, front left fender, oil cooler, oil cooler lines, and wheel all need repair. The frames fine, the engines fine, and the tire didnt take any damage. The suspension I havn't put it on a rack yet, but Im sure it at least needs aligned.
On that note the damn tow truck driver fucked up my car. He started the engine with the oil cooler leaking. So now I need to have the engine checked since I told him not to start it but he did anyways. I know my compression was good had it checked 8 months ago. So if the engine is damaged well I hope the tow company had insurance.

So sorry to hear you became the victim of a completely irresponsible person.
I hope your insurance company takes care of everything as smoothly as possible.
Hope you didn't suffer any injuries.

Until I reached in and pulled the keys, probably about 2 mins worth of time. I was talking with the officer and heard him start it up, he argued for 30 seconds then I pulled the keys out. I still have them too, I wouldnt turn them over to him again.
the next time your green liberal wacko beatle listening pot smoking friends tell you we should let people into the country show them these pics and smack them in the face

Well the officer was still with him, but another officer drove me to work so I wouldn't be late. I havn't asked yet, but heres the thing. I have coverage for my car thats not the problem. I am however out my deductable, and Im pretty sure the insurance company wont pay for an aftermarket bumper or fenders. Aside from all of that, I am hoping my CF hood isnt damaged beyond the clear coat. I had clear corners which do have a mazda part number but what kind of frustration will that cause trying to get new ones put on correctly. My wheel is damaged so they will have to pull the tire to fix it, which means the color will be off from the other 3. I will have one new HID and one old so it will look offset. This also cancels out my accident forgiveness. So now if I do end up in another wreck I am going to have a premium raise. So now I'm out my accident forgiveness. My insurance comapny only employs it after 5 years with no accidents.

Are you running a Sohn, at least?
If you mention to whoever takes care of the repair that you need a "bearing inspection" it may lead to a brand new motor, given the number of people who consider a rotary engine to be a "can of magic."
Sorry to see that you're going through this. I hope they arrested the dude.

Doc I thought what most people did was find the shop with the highest possible price for everything and then when they got cut a check to fix it they either go with a cheaper shop or do the work themselves? Thats how people end up with aftermarket items from insurance payouts, I think.

Since this accident occured around 5pm on a friday afternoon for a holiday weekend getting the information I need from the insurance company hasn't been easy. I have USAA and when they are open again I will be on the phone getting more specifics. Hopefully since its not my fault this wont affect me at all. I don't know what the odds of that are.
I will however be playing the numbers game. Like the cost of stock oil lines being 3X the cost of racing beats. I have however had time to plan this out. If I run the numbers correctly I can get the bumper I want, oil cooler lines I want, fenders I want, and have what doesnt need replaced to be repaired. I have been researching parts and costs. But how do you get the car towed to your house from the repair shop that the insurance company chose. Also they told me I pay the deductable to the shop not to them. So I am still trying to figure out exactly how this is going to roll. What I do know is that a compression test will be completed at someone elses expense and if my engine is damaged, they will also be buying a new one.

Damn sucks....this will go on your record....this coming from someone who had 2 total losses.
If its not your fault it wont impact your premium at all prob like $30 increase depending on your and other drivers fault percent.
Also the insurance company needs to go out and inspect the damage at a shop and they will tell you how much the price is for everything and cut you a check or get it repaired at their shop and they pay the shop directly.
You need to make sure you have a police report of what happened with the other persons information for the insurance company -- Have everything prepared its easier for you and the insurance.
Other than that good luck -- Aftermarket is the way to go since your car is in the shop -- most people do the mazdaspeed bumper

I was under the impression the oiling system needs to be pressurized to supply oil to the bearings, isnt that why the oil mod is performed , to increase pressure? So , if the oil lines were damaged and spewing oil out, would that not reduce the pressure required to feed the bearings ? Yes , I realize the motor was only at low revs , but without oil pressure, there may have been contact between the Eccentric shaft and bearings , this wont be noticeable instantly, tho in time it may be, maybe drop the oil and check for debris . sorry this happened to you.

This response right there.
Well said.
USAA will take care of you. If it wasn't your fault then I'd expect that you won't have any insurance hit. Hell, my youngest daughter has had two fender benders that WERE her fault and they haven't raised her rates (which I pay for).
I've been with USAA for 34 years. They're the best (and play fair :-) )
