Tuning Thoughts .....

Well it is known that Normal Aspiration Modifications in RX-8 give from 3hp up to 10hp. All those mods without porting and with the stock ECU program.

To be more specific normal aspirations modifications that entail

Air Intake max 4-5 HP
exhaust manifold max 4 HP
hi flow cat max 5 HP
Final Muffler max 3 HP

In the event that someone would perform the above modifications One at a time what do you think that the most appropriate sequence would be? Start with Air intake, then manifold then cat and final the muffler ?

Do you think that I should forget all the above modifications and concentrate on lighter flywheel, lighter wheels, 4.77 final drive ?

Or Even forget all the mods and leave my car stock and if I want to tune it then to go directly to FI ? So either FI or nothing is the question?

You'll be lucky if you can get 15hp out of all those put together...

No real header mod right now. D Sport just did a test on some of these products. With the intake, cat delete pipe & exhaust they got 15.7 whp. A bit shocking. They are going to test a grounding kit & computer re-flash next.

I would add a pulley for a few more hp. But in general if you were looking for 50 hp I would look at a nitrous system. The Zex nitrous system with 55 shot jet has been a proven power adder for this car.

I'm eyeing the supercharger route sometime next year... but i still can't bring myself to 6k..... A Hi-flow cat if your car is over the emmissions coverage should free up some hp.

Current course is to max out it's handling. coilovers, sway bars, braces. 18x8.5 18lbs wheels on Toyo RA's or T1R's @ 245/40. Replace all suspension linkage with JIC.

My build setup... not a recommendation

do the mazsport ignition and mazsport interceptor-x.

with the both of them i think its reasonable to expect ~25whp. at the cost of 2 grand.
