Question tire help!?!?

i have a set of staggered 18x8.5 --- 18x9.5. On the front i'm going use 225/45, now what size tire in the back would keep the wheels in the same diameter?? 255/40 ???

255/40R18 would be REALLY close the existing diameter...I ran 245/40R18 all the way around on the stock wheels and didn't have any problems...my feeling is that you would be OK...it depends on the offset.

I have those same size rims (except in 19") & I am running 245's up front & 275's in the rear. Unless you have lowered your car more than an 1" you would have no problems rubbing. I previously had 235's & 265's & they were stretched on the rim (like they were too small). 245/275 is perfect.

^I agree, 245's and 275's would make it handle better, as well as look alot better.

^If you are lowered you will rub with 275's if you have a +35 offset.

I have this rim setup
Size : 18 x 8(front) & 18 x 9(rear)
Offset : 38mm(front) & 38mm(rear)

and currently have the stock tires (225/45 i believe) all the way around. I am not lowered and want to get 275's for the rear however i have a 38 offset so i want to make sure im not going to rub and should i go with 275/45 ? or something different.

Thanks

When I got my 9.5" on the back, the guy who I got it from told me to get 265's as I had lowered my car & the previous one he did it for has Tein's & had some rubbing issues. I have RB Springs, so mine is only lowered about 3/4". I have no issues whatsoever with my new 275's.

275/45's would be crazy. You should go 245/40/18 on the front, & 275/35/18's in the rear. You won't have any rubbing issues if you are not lowered.

I got 225/40/19 on the front and 245/35/19.5 on the back and my car is lowered almost on the ground and i cant take a sharp turn to fast because all i hear is scrubbin. So i guess im gone have to go down to the 18 . I was wondering what the noise was and i knew something was scrubbing when i turn sharp and fast but didnt know. after reading this post now i know it was the back. the front was fine. oh well.
