Throttle Body

I can't find the DIY on cleaning the throttle body. I couldnt even spot the throttle body if I was looking inside the engine bay so can someone give me instructions on how to do this without hurting the car. Again I have 100,000 miles and she is not starting. Mazda said it was becuase the intake and throttle body. Thanks

I can tell by your username I need to specify - DO NOT HIT IT WITH A HAMMER, NO DEMO, AND 5.56mm WILL NOT CLEAN THE ENGINE.

He He, looking for a pic now.

See the silver piping (yours is black) going to the top right of the engine? The silver/gray box looking thing at the end of the pipe is the throttle body.

Cool Plate....

If you don't know what it looks like, and can't point to it, what you gonna do to it when you find it?

It's just a plate, a flat shiny plate - you can't even get it open, even if someone shows you where it is, how ya gonna clean it ? If you take the MAF tubing off it, it closes......can I watch?

What makes you think it needs a scrubadub?

HA HA, I love you guys. I have never seen red tape get cut so fast as I did on a job we did for the Corps in December, it was bad ***.

But, regulations require me to make fun of you...

Go to the DIT throttle bypass mod.

It will show you plenty of pics.

Plugs may be fouled and the engine is flooded.

A dirty MAF can cause many of your problems.

There is a great FAQ on cleaning the MAF.
