Well.. I like all of them.. AWD isnt garbage.. just the interior..

i had the honor to sit in a evo X when i was thinking about trading in.. and it really didnt feel anything upgraded from the older evo's maybe it was just me..
the seat felt really comfortable.. but not on long trip.. it would probably give you lower back pains..
and the interior ohh boy it felt like my 2002 oz rally lancer.. and thats nothing short from shitty..

but i was comparing it to my car.. they completely different cars and different purposes..

The 4G on the mitsubishis.. are really good engine and can handle power.. with the iron block... they are tough.. mitsus usualyl suck in they trannys. I did hear that they tore apart the new evo engines and they found many weakpoints... i dont know if its true but thats what i heard.. but like any new engine thats being used it will have its bugs to iron out.. look at the renesis.. its still being tuned and modified for optimun performance..

the older STi 04-06 do have slightly better inerior but thats mainly because its blue and it stands out more to the eye.. but its BUTT ugly unless you get a white one..
EVOS LOOK HIDIOUS IN BLUE AND YELLOW (personal opinion)

The New sti's Look Fugly as well..

The only drawback about the new evo is the ugly rear end reminds me of a corolla.. but the front looks sweet. I wish they had that new front on the older model evos.. looks like a shark!

but each car has different purposes you cannot compare them to the rx8 come on now..

its like me trying to compare my air jordans to my Jogging shoes.. they each have different purposes depenidng on what you want out of it..

Hasn't anyone taken a REAL test drive? Like around some twisties? All this crap about "ZOMG INTERIOR IZ FAIL" and "OLD DSM TEH BETTTAR!!1" is really disappointing coming from you guys...
Well the reason why the are multiple users on here is because not one person speaks for the rest.

I hate factory turbos on cars in that price range...they all run out of breath way before redline so they can have quicker spool up down low and smoother daily drivability.

If you wanna see the potential of factory turboing for just a little more money, test drive the 135. It's got the best factory turbo setup in its price range by far. No flat spot, pulls hard all the way to redline...feels like a roller coaster.

I own an RX-8 and I still don't get the whole 'beat them in the twisties' BS.

Why the hell would you race on a public street if it was extremely twisty anyways? Drag racing on a straight road is bad enough. Anyone willing to 'race in the twisties' are both idiots and have no skill. I have yet to hear other autocross/track people talk about such silly things.

Since cars matter so much to some of you, if you are ever in Houston stop by raceway park. There are several guys with 9 & 10 second trucks. Some of those trucks are desiels.

With the logic of the 'kids' on this forum that means
F-250 > EVO, STI, RX-8, Crossfire, and 350z

I'm with you, I'll take the new STI over the Evo. Evo stock handles better but the STI is faster. One of the car mags just raced 2 of the new cars with minor mods to the suspension and the STI beat out the EVO and was quoted as having better handling then the modded Evo.

Also Subaru has a better over all reliability then Mistu, the interior is nicer and you still have the old saying there is no substitute for cubic inches. STI 2.5 vs 2 for the Evo.

Side note:

There was a new EVO X at the SCCA Peru National Tour in STU. The guy broke one of his pedals off on Saturday during one of his runs.

personally i would take the evo x over the sti..not just cuz i work a a mitsu dealer its just a nicer car overall..especially if you get the MR that is one quick car,,and i dont know where some of you guys get that the sti handles better because it has been PROVEN that the sti is slower around a course(forgot which one) than a evo x and the evo mr is still faster than the gsr also....just go out test drive an mr and you will see wat i am talking about....
also this is a very good write up of the 2,,,,,,,,,,,

It is no surprising that you found the power lacking. The stock tune on the X from the factory is shitty. The stock tune runs soo damn rich such that you gain 20+whp by adding a drop in filter to lean it out.

If you have a chance you should try to test drive the X tuned. You should be a lot more impressed with the power. I wasn't impressed with my stock IX either until I did a dyno tune. It changes the car completely.

+1

The evo X is looking to be a tuners dream. Below is a thread title from the evo x board. They went from stock 252whp to 317whp on a stock car and tuning.
