Welcome to the club! Follow the below procedures, and you'll be in good shape:

-Do regular maintenance on the car (check fluids)
-Do redline at least once a day
-Do become a slave to this forum (you will find yourself on here a lot)
-Understand that members of this forum are all passionate about this car (if not all Rotaries) so be mindful of others, we love this car.

Happy Driving!

Congrats. You can backup your worthiness by driving safe and knowing your limits. I took a tad bit of flack for buying my '8 for my daughter when she turns 16. But I trust her judgement and ability and nobody here knows her like I do. I do appreciate the concern but I am responsible enough to have considered all of that before buying the car. Just participate in the forum as if you are a responsible owner like you claim and nobody will even know you are 16.

i used non synthetic castrol.. you cant argue it, but you have to go buy what the book says. which is 5w-20. They can send the oil to a lab to test it. Even if I was using 5w-20 i didnt have my maintanance records....WARRANTY VOIDED. My rebuilt engine will be installed within a week or 2

congrats on the car.
and another thing, 5w-20 is water thin. you can tell the difference pretty easily between 5w-20 and 5w-30. But all the rotary experts say 20w-50 is the best.. I was told that by Alamo Rotary, and Pettit Racing. Both companies have rebuild and worked on many rotaries, and thats whay they say, so thats what i'll do.

btw, Tito Ramos from Alamo Rotary rebuilt my engine. That man creates MONSTERS!!! Look at his 3-rotor rx-8 on the dyno

WTF. No, how the hell can they catch you? Also, you don't need to prove them **** about maintenance. Go to another dealer if they are being bitches about it. Remember, once oil is inside the car and used, it's nearly impossible to tell what kind of oil you used due to the contamination and **** that's inside of it. Dealer's don't have time to do lab tests. Also, they have to prove that it will void your warranty. Tell them to **** off and go somewhere else.

Well, since you are 16 and you have an RX-8 for your first car, that your folks have been generous enough to hand you for just being alive, you rightly are expecting some flak from the board. Get real. Please. You gotta understand -most of us have gotten a ton of education, followed by years of hard work and saving money while raising our own kids, just to be able to afford one. Having said that, be safe and take it easy and don't let any of your stupid friends EVER drive your car. EVER.

I knew families faaaar richer then this kids parents that didn't buy their kids crap.
I was friends with the son of the vice president of UBS financial services. He drove a 89' pathfinder with like 300k miles on it. I got a 1996 ford contour when I was 16. Hey..at least it had a v6.

But see..then again I trashed the **** out of that car and appreciate the fact that it sucked. In fact I had no desire for anything nicer at the time. But anyways congrats and stop with your whiney 16 year old attitude cuz you'll run out of wind soon enough. Just be glad you're lucky enough to own such a great car at 16. And treat it right!

...Goodluck. Don't be a douchebag when you get the car. BTW, YaxmanGto is far better than you or your gay *** attitude, it's not best to tell other's to screw off when you are a n00b.
Hope you flood the car the first day too.
