Sunroof/moonroof doesn't sit evenly

Has anybody noticed if their sunroof doesn't sit evenly when it's closed? The right front corner of mine sits about 1/8 inch below the surface of the roof, while the left side rises just above the surface maybe a millimeter. It's been like that since I got it and I didn't make such a big deal about it at first. But now I wanna fix it! I couldn't seem to find any adjustments anywhere obvious. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Mine if flush all around. Perhaps it's a post-factory/dealer install?

Should be covered under the warranty in any case though, no?

Take it to the dealer. It's a warrenty issue. Plus your roof should sit perfectly flush with the roof.

definately get that fixed. Mine is flush.

The only thing I noticed about my sunroof is the black weatherstrip around the sunroof has an inconsistant quality, some parts of it is lighter black, like it's worn out or something. Anyone noticed this?

I have the same thing. It seals fine though, so i'm not terribly worried about it. If it appears to deteriorate, i'll get it checked before the warranty is up.

i asked about this when i first got the car, and they said it was from the protective covering during shipping, it just stuck in certain places, they used some sort of detergent (wouldnt say what) and cleaned it all up.

same problem on mine. Had the "gew" look from the protective film. Got it all cleaned off and after numerous washes, I hardly notice it now. ON the other hand, my sunroof makes abit of a clunk when first opening. Going to have it checked on next service trip.

Time for the 303. While you're at it do the doors and trunk. Makes the seals look better and last longer.

I had been assuming it was the strip breaking up, but due to the discussion here, I went out and scratched on it and it looks like you guys are right, it's slowly coming off.

Will the 303 remove it easier?

Sent you a PM...Did you ever get that stuff off the trim off the sunroof? It is annoying me and I even tried nail polish remover and can't get it off. Thanks for any advice.

Like some others have suggested, take it to a dealer and have it adjusted. There is a procedure in the shop manual that details the procedure.

Yeah, doesnt sound right. Mine is even all the way around with the body of the car. Take it to the dealer and have Mazda look at it.

for the record, I finally got the stuff off my sunroof, the dealer did most and the many washings took care of the rest. had to get the mechanism lubricated to take care of the clunking sound too.
