What is up with all the extra stuff that is not used on the display panel.

There is an "AC ECO/AUTO"in the display and also a fan icon with a bar graph that inicated fan speed. I can't remember if there is any other right off hand.

Looks like is/was a AUTO AC Climiate control option for the RX-8. I don't remember that being an option when I bought my 8

I believe in other countries they offer automatic climate control. The panel is the same (generic) for all countries.

I thought I was the only one out there that thought this. I kept turning the fan on and off, with the A/C and the heat, and the fan with the bars wouldn't light upon the panel. I thought it was broken. LOL! Glad to hear that its just made not to light up at all.

My Mazda6 also has the same display. I have the auto climate control, as do RX-8s in some other countries. I'm sure it's a cost saving measure.

Yes, we people in Australia have climate control and these extra indicators light up.
