Still not official.
I'll believe it when Mazda announces it.
Thanks for the heads-up though.

If a new rotary car is to be introduced in 2 years as the article says, look to the Tokyo Auto Salon in January for a show car. If not, look further down the road.

The information about the 16X has already been out there. I don't know how just by increasing the displacement of the engine will reduce the requirement for oil injection.

How to solve the failings of the Renesis engine that preceded all of this? "The key to both higher torque and better fuel consumption," said the insider,
How is renesis a failure in anyway? It cuts emission, better mpg, and respectble power even just na

But like othera said, i believe it when i see it.

Perhaps its wishful thinking, but this made my day. Waiting for an official announcement before I start the victory dance though

That article is complete bs. Just someone else feeding on someone else's belief in the rumor mill.
- '16X' name was dropped a few/couple years ago
- the dimensions of it were known
- the name for the engine is currently 'Sky-R'
- the oil consumption comments prove the ignorance and how that couldn't have been from Mazda
- zero comment on SkyActive tech Mazda had previously mention

^ Many of us would. These completely fabricated "news articles" don't help anything though.

The only "news" in the linked article is the timeline for a new rotary vehicle. It's obvious that Autoblog and other automotive news sources, don't follow good journalistic practices. These would be as simple as verifying your source. This reporter visited a car show, meet someone that said they worked at MNAO and got a quote, never checking that they actually worked there. There have been leaks from MNAO that never came to fruition too. Remember the official electric supercharged Mazdaspeed RX8?
The two year timeline seems to be a bit too tight. I believe we would have known something by now.
Expect more unsubstantiated rumors after SevenStock.

That news seems to be made out of the 16X article on Mazda's website: 16x

All the suppliers would have orders to make parts.

With that type of manufacturing going on we would know about it.

Even though there are non-disclosure agreements, you can't stop the workers from figuring out what is going on. Then they talk to everybody.

Expect orders to hit suppliers next year if they plan on building another rotary for 2017..
