80 in a 45

I got pulled over for going "80" in a 45 riding beside my brother on memorial day weekend at 1am. Of course I was not going that fast more like 65 ... I did not hit my brakes, but used my cruise control to slow down. I saw his lights throw on and my brother said he came flying out of his hiding place nearly causing a wreck; he was so far behind me and I could have easily have ran and hid, but I took it like a responsible adult and pulled over. The funny thing is, he flew past me on the road, got about two car lengths ahead of me, slammed on his breaks and swirved in behind me blaring his siren. It was like he was unsure of who he wanted to pull, and saw a "fast looking" car and pulled me - by that time I was only going 47.

The policeman threw the book at me, and said he should "throw me in jail" because I was going more than 20mph over the speed limit. He proceeded to tell me I was a young man in a fast car (stero-typing me of course) and that he did the worse he could do, so I would learn my lesson.

Then he pulled out his 12in night stick and shoved it all the way up my rear, and handed me my $420 / 6 point ticket. My brother died laughing and said they do less to drunk drivers - I AGREE.

In retro-spect I am glad I did not run, my brother said I was smart because only half-a-mile down the road were two cops stopped off at a gas station, LOL I could be in jail atm.

Went to court and asked for a trial by jury - hopefully the DA will settle out of court and I can get some of these points knocked off. If not, oh well, it is always an interesting story to tell my friends and my gf thought it was sexy - LOL.

Overall it was a good first ticket

First ticket in over 3 years, and ironically for the previous 2 hours i'd cruised at 70MPH in a 65.

Come up on a band of semi's and cars (about 3-4 or so) on the passing lane. No one is in the right lane, but the traffic in the right lane is starting to close in slowly. So naturally, I wanna catch the break from behind the 68MPH traffic...take a good look around and think i'm clear. Hammer into the right lane and start to get on it. As with most passes, i'm watchin the redline rather than the speed. RIGHT when it get to the apex of the pass (the very front of the front truck) I pull ahead JUST in time for a state trooper to clock me from the median...ironically RIGHT where I couldn't see him because of the truck I was passing in the RIGHT lane.

Trooper clocked me at an unreal 93 in 65 on I75. After he told me, I really couldn't believe it...it felt like i were goin maybe 80. However, I didn't put up any fight...i deserved it...even if it was a spur-of-the-moment speeding ticket. However, to my dismay, the ticket was only $95...as it is my first violation in over 3 years. Although it shook me up, I got off a lot better then most I talk to. and BTW...im 24.

I'm pretty sure this has to be one of the largest tickets on this forum. Not really a good feeling
<- 103 in a 55 - got it down to 80 by taking it to court. BS ticket, I was only going 78-80 to begin with (PA locals use some of the most inaccurate pacing devices, they're not allowed to use radar).

i got a ticket thursday morning... coming around a service road in fort worth here, two cops already had two people pulled over, tags me with laser from a few hundred feet away (after i had slowed down tons) and got me for 54 in a 40... ive been guilty of going 80+ on there a few times.

What sucks is that not only did they have 2 people already pulled over but two OTHER people not more then 10 minutes before and after me from my office got tickets from the same ******* cops.

I cant do defensive driving b/c its been less then a year, and i dont know the costof the ticket yet... stupid Fort worth tickets make you CALL in to see the fine. I might just do deferred judification (or whatever its called when you get put on probation)

isnt there some law in texas where (even if you have two cops) they cant pull over like 7 people simultaneously? and all make them wait while they write the others tickets?

Ive never done the ticket lawyer thing? what kinda cost does that incur? and anyone have anyone they reccommend?
